I'm new to this and have started weight training + cardio - was overweight started at 74kg and after 5 weeks am now 70kg. This looks like it's no good for me as I don't want to put on weight. I wan't to lose weight(fat) and build bigger muscles and a more toned psysic, can anyone recommend a powder for me? (current I'm on
this one, I take every other day on my weight training day- one day cardio, 1 day weights 7 days a week)

I'm assuming you're a guy? How tall are you? Generally what I normally do is buy protein in bulk that's pretty cheap, it doesn't really matter what protein you're on as long as you're roughly counting your calories and are near/ aiming for your TDEE

Yep, am a guy 164cm tall. Age 39.

Where do you buy in bulk?

-Losing weight does not necessarily mean you lost fat. Could've been muscle mass, water.....
-Some practices/concepts/regimes may work for some people sometime(s). Could be genetics, age..
-Research. What you know, know it well.

I am looking to get into training but I am over weight, I don't understand the different types of shakes and what they are for!

I do need to lose weight can someone please help me or direct me to what is a better product to take along with me cardio ?
I seem to lose a lot of energy and become very tired and unable to do much in training :(

For a start, I suggest you cut out ALL cakes, sweats, sugar and crap. Just by doing that I willing to bet good money that you'll lose fat. Be honest with yourself too. No cheating, after all it's you who will be winning or losing depending on whether you stick to it. I'm doing it and seeing results.

Next add some weight training, can be as simple as dumbbells to start with, every other day. Combine it with cardio everyday, cardio can be easier if you do HIIT, that's 15 seconds of high intensity, ie. fastest you can run, then 60 seconds of rest, then 15 seconds of any high intensity again (get your heart rate right up). Do this for about 15 minutes alternating between rest and high intensity. When you've done this for a week, come back on here and tell us your before and after weight.

Oh, and split your meals out to smaller ones, about 5 or 6 a day. No sausage and mash. Eat more chicken, beef, turkey, fish. No white bread, no bad carbs. Whole meal bread is better, but not too much.
