Three protein bars currently half price at Sainsburys, 21-23g of protein per bar. Obviously only any purpose if you are after an increased protein intake, but £1 for 23g protein in a snack from a well known brand is a decent price.

Promax Lean Chocolate
Promax Lean Dark Chocolate
Promax Protein

Decent deal, I think.

If you buy a pack of 12 from Amazon. There is an offer at the moment with 30% discount. £13.95 less 30% discount = payable £9.76 for 12 bars

Thanks for pointing this out - great price for them.

All the protein bars I've tried are very dense and heavy, really chewy and hard to eat. I can get the same amount of protein using an 80% Whey powder and a shaker for around 20p, don't see the point in spending a £1 on 23g of protein.

Which Whey powder would you recommend?

I normally use Myprotein 80% Impact Whey, if you buy 5KG flavoured it works out less than 20p per serving (22g of protein) if you buy unflavoured its even cheaper. It may not taste the best but I just mix with a small cup of water in a shaker and just neck it, does the job on the cheap.
