Just ordered the same from Currys, wish I'd known about the code bppod10 which gives 10% off.

i have a 320gb mawtor ex hdd and it doesn't have a power switch, i find this annoying but some people i doubt would care. this is the same. Thought i 'd let ya all know.
With the 3% quidco and the 10% off voucher applied, this drive will still cost circa £65. This is basically the going rate for external 320GB drives, give or take a few pounds, and therefore no bargain, in my opinion. The drive has also got other limitations (such as cheap and ugly casing, and the lack of a power button) which makes it even less attractive, IMHO.

The problem is the £4.99 shipping charge, for which I could find no voucher that worked. If the price was £60 it might have been slightly more tempting. As it is though, think I will pass. Thanks to the OP though!
Does anyone know the model number of this product and/or the product page on the Maxtor website?

(Its definately not MAX320GI)
Nice find. Shame the hard disk drive has got 2Mb Cache as opposed to 8Mb Cache. Maxtor customer service/after-sales is second to none though in fairness.
Merry Christmas. :santa:

Hi, Don't know this for certain but I think that this product has been specifically made for DGSi ( similar to the Toshiba External USB 320Gb offerings that they've had or possibly still have on their web-site with Western Digital hard disk drives fitted.

Merry Christmas. :santa:
Merry Christmas you too and Thanks for the post :santa:
Picked one up this morning. The proper name for it is Maxtor Basics Personal Storage 3200.

Very Impressed and it is actually 16mb Cache not 2mb.....

Same thing at DABs
The Toshiba 320GB unit is commonly available at places like Dabs etc.
Just picked up the Maxtor today (28th Dec), it is still available to order on line and collect in the store for £69.99.

While not as good looking as the Toshiba, for the price I think it's a winner.
are these better than the western digital ones which you can get a 250GB in for the same price? thanks
Seems to be stuck at £139.99 for collect and delivery now :( Tried it earlier this morning and was the same. Damn I really wanted one of these! :(

This deal is dead now. Just tried to get one at my local PC World, and was told it was for two days only. Unless you reserved before today, you'll be out of luck. (Also showing at £139.99 online at Currys and PC World)
