Think this has been posted, but just for info I got one last time round with Sainsburys and they might not work with all PC's. Mine was powered by 2 USB's feeding into one input power connection. At first I thought mine was knacked as it would try to spin but fail. Someone on here said thats what they do if not enough power. Later tried it on a laptop and worked fine.

can you provide a rec? or a barcode of the item please?
#5
Can report works beautifully on the Wii although sometimes you have to go in to the loader twice - possibly it doesn't spin up quickly enough?

i have the 500gb version and find it a real PITA to delete files from, i have to do it one at a time... is there any way the firmware can be changed or something? so it will work like a normal external drive?
#15
Got this about a month ago, great drive for £30 and works a treat with WiiFlow and USBGX ;o)

Funny you should mention this but I got 2 in December when they were on offer last (funnily enough from Hessle, the big superstore next to Homebase!!) and I wanted to move files from one folder to another and it locked up for about 10 minutes, its only changing a ref in the FAT, few seconds at the most!!

I even looked at these drives again this morning in this store and still said 59.99 (behind glass cabinet), did you take a gamble and take one to the checkout on the off chance or did you have insider knowledge?:)

Hi went in for the Seagate 250gb originally, but just out of curiosity I asked for a price check on the Maxtor, was tempted to get a couple at this price but did not want to be greedy lol

I have a different maxtor drive, but it also has 2 usb's to supply the power - 1 red 1 black.
When plugging into the pc i have to put the red 1 in first then the black 1 in within 5 seconds, if i don't do it this way i get the same problem you describe

I was greedy, bought 2 for us and 1 for my brother, the sales guy put the other behind the counter for himself when he realised what price they were

For anyone interested, i've just picked up a Seagate 250gb at my local Sainsburys for £29.99. Over a dozen left in stock....Sainsburys opposite Crystal Palace Football Ground South London.
#25
none in bamber bridge preston
they did have lots of the free leftover boxes both sizes

There were loads left in Frome, Somerset, but I had to ask for one as they're stored out in the warehouse for some reason. Might be an idea to ask someone to look 'out back' for you if there aren't any on display.

Also, mine wouldn't price scan, so he had to look it up manually...

Thanks to the OP for the heads-up, I needed an external HDD to backup all of those photos stuffed onto the laptop!

I bought this drive 1/2 year ago and found it very sluggish. Sometimes it takes 8 secs before I can access the files in the drive when it is already plugged in. It seems like it went to sleep or something?

Anyone else experience this problem?
