A bit better value than the 500gb, it's hot then.

Don't see that as such a good deal for an external desktop hd as you can get a 1TB Seagate External with 50% more space than this for a tenner more (£59.99) from Amazon.

:stocking:Ive got this.... but ive got the 500gb and paid about 70 for it.. and to put it bluntly i dont like it... its broke and i cannot acess any of the files on it no more.. it was almost full with college work and films and music.. and now its all gone..... just buzzes when i plug it in now... i onlt had it 5 months or so when it did that

Could be the power supply - if you know someone else with a Maxtor Basics 3.5" it might be worth borrowing theirs to check.

Indeed not a great deal, my fave around at the moment is the samsung story station 1tb or 1.5tb models

Hmmm, not as good a deal as the one posted yesterday.

However, at this price I think I would spend the extra and go for the Seagate or Samsung hard drive.

unfortunately cold because 1TB drives aren't that much more +10GBP approx.

These are notorious for breaking down, not just the PSU.

Not a great deal by any means. I didnt pay THAT much more for a 500Gb well over a year ago.
