Have had poor experiences with previous generation OneTouches (gen 1 and 2), and because of poor customer service, I will never buy Maxtor again. But this seems a good price.
These get poor feedback on Amazon though the firewire version is highly rated.

Good price.

doesnt include 'loss of data' LOL

doesnt include 'loss of data' LOL

At least the drive was replaced then, blondi.
I didn't know there was any 'loss of data' warranty at all. Maxtor must be different; how long does their 'loss of data' warranty last?
Had this HDD for about year now, mine runs fine (touch wood). Its been though quite a bit of a bashing in my laptop bag through travelling/going abroad. It goes on idle when not in use and spins up when you load something which is ideal for me as its quieter and prolongs the drives life.
I have been running a maxter one touch for a few years, and yes I have had the occasional problem, but always managed to sort it out. It has been and excellent external drive. And this is a good deal.
