Good tyres, very underated by those who only use main brands, but a billy bargain to those of us that have discovered how good they are... but they are always around this price at various places.
A few months back a pair of Maxxis 120/70 & 180/55 for my Bandit 1250 was £99, they've now gone up to £115on this site and everywhere else.
Still a hot deal though as they are half the price of major brands.

how are these compared to something like Michelin Pilot power 2CT's like I got on mine at the mo (very impressed with them but these are over £200 a pair)

Which ones Jeff? Interested in some for my Versys and maybe the Detour range would work well. I ride mostly roads but live in a fairly rural location so those roads are not the best. I am not going to be riding through fields but something that can cope with water, mud and a loose surface would be good. The stock Dunlops are ok up to a bit and then scare the sh1t out of me!

I use the Maxxis Supermax sports/touring, which would be more than enough grip for your Kawa Versys.
I think your Versys has a 120 front and a 160 rear which would be £115 a pair on the OP's deal for Maxxis tyres.

Kwakker ZX10R, they are an absolutely amazing tyre, changed from Dunlop to these and the difference is very noticeable, shame they are so expensive

Thanks Jeff. That certainly is a great price if these are any good.

It looks like they do a "Supermaxx Sport" and a "Supermaxx Touring" here: URL="http://www.maxxis.co.uk/catalog/Motorcycle-Tyres,62.aspx"]http://www.maxxis.co.uk/catalog/Motorcycle-Tyres,62.aspx[/URL]. I am guessing you are recommending the Supermaxx Touring?

And you're right, it's 120 / 160

Yes on this site they are listing them as a touring tyre, but i can tell from the tread pattern they are the Maxxis Supermax MR6029, which is a sport/touring tyre. This tyre is W rated and this rating is good for up to 168 MPH.
They just aren't as grippy as the pure sport tyre, but these Supermax MR6029 give far better mileage.
I'm getting 5,000 miles outta the rear and 7,500 outta the front.... your Versys should do even better than that

For a pure race bike like that you'd obviously want the Maxxis sports tyre, and i dont have any experience of the Maxxis sports tyre, but MCN tested them at the Isle Of man TT and gave them great reviews.... but as they dont have your size it doesn't really matter anyway.
