Better than Norton I think and a very good price for the whole suite :) Thanks edi!

brilliant find edi

Thanks Ray :)

I hope people will able to choose between this and the Norton deal posted yesterday.

Nice spot, it's twice that price at PcWorld.
My girlfriends just got herself a new pc so I think I'll get this for her, thanks.

Just something to consider but both the norton and mcafee suites are reported to be real resource hogs, not good on slighlty older machines. The zonealarm suite IMHO is a better buy at ~ £25.

Norton used to have the problem of being very slow at responding to zero day threats with definitions to new threats taking days to appear.

But having any virus and firewall protection is better than none.

Had this on my wife's Dell notebook but removed it straight away and left only the antivirus part. It seems Norton and McAfee do not get a very good review on their respective suites but they're very good on their anti-virus package.

to save more money, you could use the superb (much acclaimed) anti-virus software - avast.

It's free for home users, and you get all your updates etc, it's the best I have ever used, and I have experience of Norton, AVG and McAfee.

And then you can get your free firewall from Zonealarm, or use the one built into windows.

Hope that helps

At this price it's a steal! 8)

Check out some of the test reports for this product against others:

I would recommend either Kaspersky or Nod32 over this though. Still bought a copy of this for one of the many PC's i own. Many thanks!

I hope you have better luck than the last fiasco with 7DayShop and Nero.

I agree the anti virus part is probably the best and I still prefer the free options for all security in general. But my 5150 has McAfee and I'm finding it pretty good so far. As someone else says above, it depends on how up to date your system is for resources available...

Avast is my choice too! Excellent and easy to use. it updates almost every day for the latest threats and of course it's free ;)

Welcome to HotUKDeals by the way :D

Good deal but have found Mcafee not as good as free software, use the following free software myself:-

AVG - Anti Virus
Zone Alarm - Firewall
Spybot and Ad Aware - To remove Spyware

Use to use Mcafee and the above always found more than Mcafee.

If you buy this remember the note at the bottom of the 7dayshop page:
Please note: This sensational price is for the software supplied on a CD ROM, which include a Adobe PDF file with full install instructions etc. The image shown is for descriptive purposes as supplied by McAfee.

You will only get a CD in an envelope, nothing else, so don't expect the full fancy package shown.
Personally I had this on one of my Dell PCs and removed it straightaway because I couldn't get on with it. I use Norton on all my PCs now and yes it does hog resources (especially on older machines like Win98SE) but the later versions are slightly better as long as you have more than 500MB of memory you'll be OK.

I use Norton AV corporate edition & Zone Alarm firewall free edition. Happy with both :)
