This is old!! I would have it if it was given to me. It doesn't work on Windows 8. Infact it's so outdated that it won't stop a lot! The amount o new viruses and malaware since this was released means that the software acts like malaware itself.

AVOID COLDD!!!

The price is wrong, it needs to include an additional £2 minimum you'll have to spend on aspirins required during the installation, use and attempted uninstallation of this product once you realise your new i7 with 16GB ram and SSD runs like a 3 legged rabies infected dog that has just been run over by a steam roller.

I'll admit to simply copying the above from the last £2 McAfee thread.

Basically avoid unless you don't value your time, your computer performance or your sanity.

forgive me if I am wrong.. but couldn't you download the latest trial version from the website and use the code from inside the package?

Website does say it supports windows 8.

I used to do the same with f-secure =)

http://home.mcafee.com/store/family-protection and download trial... it should ask for the code.

plus.. the software should update the virus definitions... which would make it up to date.... just thinking out loud here. 3 machines protected for £2 seems crazy... you could buy a couple of these and then use codes later on? maybe even get in essence 5 years protection for 3 computers for £10 ?

Hmm I got two of them. Still think that it's better than no protection at all :)
Thanks for heads up with Windows 8 and Trial + code :)

I don't see why the code wouldn't work. Downloading the latest one means most of the bugs should have been fixed (not teaching you how to suck eggs if you already know this lol... I hear they only teach that on Big Brother!).

Remember: This product does not include anti-virus protection .. it is pure family protection

As most kids now use phones and tablets today this is less useful than a chocolate teapot!

Best protection is to have the PC in a family room and teach your kids what is safe and what isn't.

Some people like shocking products ... and it is a good price for them :p
Say this item was a pair of bright yellow trainers. Shocking product.. good price for someone who might like them. (my opinion anyways).

It is a good price for av protection, and it will do the job but it is just very bloated and heavy on systems.
