Went into Iceland today and saw these on offer.
They are £2 each or 3 for £5 (works out £1.67 each).

Usually they are for £2.50 each at Tesco. Anyone who has tried these chips will know how good they taste.

This is a LITTLE bag of frozen chips.

£1.70 odd a bag is a normal price/overpriced for this small bag, NOT a bargain. Cold

I hate to burst your bubble but the average large bag is now 1.4kg and small 900g - damn penny pinching companies!

They might be the cheapest Crinkles around, but they're not actually that cheap. They're overpriced in fact (small bag).

My suspicious mind thinks these supermarkets are making packets smaller and smaller so they can trick you when you buy them ONLINE, you assume they're a normal large bag but they're shrinking.

Greedy supermarkets, YUK!

Aldi oven chips are nice.

I agree. Aldi oven chips are tastier. The steak cut chips better than brand ones

As much as I would like to buy into your theory; misleading advertising will cause retailers to fall foul of consumer laws. It is also good, otherwise this site would not be as useful or helpful ;--)). However, you are right about greed - but the kind a consumer indulges in.

The supermarkets or rather the food brands have taken upon themselves to regulate that greed by blending a cocktail of bills/laws, economy (inflation, supply/demand blah..blah) and media scare stories about obesity etc. to fill their pockets and screw the general consumer.

As much as I hate to quote this article, chips are not cheap these days amongst many other products!

It was not a 'food' lecture or any of that kind. Your 'suspicious mind' should be capable of querying and quoting facts. If you want wishful thinking - then buy the ALDI chips, yes they are good!

Actually Mccains just reintroduced the 2.25kg bag. So I don't agree with this. It gets interesting as you have to watch prices to work out if the small, medium or large bag is better value. £1.67 per bag would be a good deal if you only buy Mccains. They are tasty chips. so hot on both accounts as I normally pay more than this. Not near an iceland. :(
