Got 1 of these (though not from very) great to stash stuff under, my xmas pressies are living there now!! far better than drawer's that bend and break, and to look at the bed you would never no what amount of (junk/goodies) delete as appropriate [/are lurking under there!!

are these beds sturdy, ive been looking at the otterman ones but there a fortune?

We had this bed for three months, and the frame attached to the hydrolic gave way, Very sent us another one, but within three days that one gave way too! this bed looks great, but thats as far as its uses stretch. What a shame.

I bought this bed and recieved it today, myself and my partner read the instructions very carefully and done everything that it said we should do, the hydrolic hinges would not go down and when we put the base on the whole thing collapsed and landed on my cat!!!!

This is the worst bed I have ever bought.not good value for money has lasted approx 18months and is now beyond repair. The storage aspect sold it to me,I stored stuff I wouldn't need that open so rarely opened the bed.the hydrolic arms have now collapsed and mattress and lats are now balancing on stuff stored under bed.not recommended if you want to regulary lift it up or lift it up at all for that matter!

This has got to be the worst bed ive had to date. From day 1 the gas lift canisters didnt budge - took them to a garage to see if they could loosen them but even they couldnt shift them!!! Eventually got them replaced and now 6 months later the metal brackets that hold the gas lift to the matress base on 1 side have broken and buckled. The metal is bending so the gas lift is now useless. I only bought the bed for the underbed storage now i wish i hadnt.

Thought mine was a one off, but after reading that the gas lift has gone on a lot of them, its going back!!A lot of money for it to last only a few months, would not recommend it!

This bed got really bad reviews. Breaks in no time.

Oh dear. Even if it has positive comments I cannot get the negative ones out of my mind. I'm out.

 The storage idea is tempting but a better bed is far more important. I used to have drawer divan which worked fine but all the items (bedding etc) got very dusty.

Now have wooden bed with large roller boxes under them. Can't see them and very practical, dust free. They were pricy but less expensive than other options.

Strikes me dust would also be a problem here too. Mattresses shed a lot. Don't like the idea of sleeping on hydraulics! :w00t:

Strikes me also, you would only really use the edges, I reckon it would be difficult to access the middle area of storage :?

I really want a bed like this.
The negative reviews are troubling but there are plenty of good ones too.

Any personal experience of this?

We've had this bed since Christmas my combined weight with OH is over 30st. (I'm a big fella) :whistling:. Never had any problems with it. It opens and closes perfectly. I wouldn't bother with the mattress as they don't offer a lot of support. I read the bad reviews also and thought I'd take a chance. I can only guess the reason for the failures is down to not putting it together properly. It also appears from the reviews If you experience any problems with it "Very" will take it back. So my conclusion is if you are looking for an ottoman style bed - Buy it and get a mattress elsewhere. If you don't like it send it back. You won't find cheaper.

Thanks for your review. Did you pay this price or was it higher? Gone for one for recent Sealey/Tesco bargain mattress. Was looking at these but were mostly over £300 prior to this....

perhaps someone could help me here. i need a new bed and have a small room and have been looking at these type of beds, ill probably buy it but would like to know from anyone who owns this bed, can they be adjusted to open side on? if not when you open it, how much clearance from the end of the bed do you have? ive got a tv on my wall which is about 110cm from the floor and sticks out about 20cm. the bed would be pushed right against the wall as well.....

many thanks,

When opening the bed you pull a thick flat cord that is looped through the underside of the steel frame where the mattress sits. This can be moved to anywhere you like, however the further towards the head of the bed the more difficult it will be to lift. The natural place to put is at the end of the bed as you gain more leverage when lifting it. I hope this helps!!

I bought it around Christmas last year and as they made a mess of the delivery managed to get it for £340-ish including the "luxury" mattress, which I don't really recommend.

ours came last week and my partner put it together on his own
