Well, you could use it to route a groove in the back of some skirting board to hide your cat5e cable :whistling:

A router is a woodworking tool used to rout out (hollow out) an area in the face of a piece of wood.

A "router" is actually another form of sat-nav system. It is handy because it requires the use of a mains lead trailing behing your car but this ensures your unit never suffers from a flat battery.

super i can use my £5 voucher up for this
#14
Probably a stupid question given the price. But are these any good?
#15
Keeping the thread ON TOPIC these routers are cheap (presumably Chinese) rebadged items. Many other stores (eg Netto, Wickes etc) do diifferently badged versions of these. I did have a Wickes one but it broke after one use (dodgy power button) and build quality is generally poor. These generally go for £15 to £20 so for £10 its still a good deal if you want a router for occassional use..............

Don't expect a quality item but they are okay. Did you have a particular job in mind you wanted to use it for or is it just to dabble?

Dabbling mostly. I have another cheap one I bought a while ago but the plunge lock on it is so bad that I'd consider it unsafe (it can easily unlock without any warning whilst you work).

Be fine for dabbling but I'm not sure how much better this would be than your existing one....

Worth a look for £9.99 though I suppose. I get 5 more crappy router bits if it's rubbish. :D

Thanks for the advice.

where do I plug the RJ-11?
