seems a very good price for the limited edition....but what will everyone be playing for multiplayer in the FPS category, MOH or COD Black Ops ?
#2
I'll get CoD, but then I'll wish I hadn't bothered and go back to MoH, for the same reasons I switched to BFBC2.

I'm a Call of Duty man.

COD has got to be special this time to grip the fans, MW2 was hit & miss for the fans so it's up to Treyarch to try and win us over

Cheers fp, didn't know it has now finished. I will now uninstall, and I guess you will also do the same as you need the disk space.

Already done so, Andy... in order to make room to (re-)download the new "Blur" demo (to enter the competition) but that failed anyway:

Win a 125i BMW Performance! (by downloading/playing the PS3 multiplayer demo of "Blur")

Unlucky. I managed to get to rank 5 and I will only be too happy to sell you the car, at a reasonable cost, when I win.

Been looking forward to MOH for ages, all the footage and vids looked amazing but the beta was extremely poor. Could still be good of course with improvements as Bad Co. 2 was the same. Black Opps looks very good too from what I've seen. Both campaigns look epic, multiplayer needs to be played 1st hand though.

Coincidentally, I'm "in the market" for a new car at present. Nobody seems to sell the one I want though :)

I downloaded the demo to another PS3 console yesterday (that did not have the previous version of the Demo installed) but I have not returned to it yet to play through again.

PS. ALL: I have just received an e-mail from Tesco Entertainment.

"Hurry, limited offer: £5 off when you pre-order Call of Duty Black Ops, Halo Reach or Medal of Honor...

£5 off when you pre-order one of the three great games...
Just enter the code GAMES5OFF-1 at checkout.
Hurry, offer only available to the first 5000 customers!".

This may provde useful to anybody who has already used the 15% off voucher code & doesn't wish to create another account at Tesco Entertainment (with a different e-mail address) to get a reduced price.

[EDIT]: Limited offer: £5 off when you pre-order Call of Duty Black Ops, Halo Reach or Medal of Honor [/EDIT]

I just ordered this, stacking both the 15% off and the £5 off code, bringing the price down to £27.89. Hopefully Quidco will also track, bringing it down to about £25. Cheap enough to make me pre-order, even though I didn't rate the beta (I really want that BF3 beta access!)

Be aware that the £5 off code is only valid for the first 5000 orders of Halo:Reach, MofH and COD: Black Ops, and will automatically expire once it has been used 5000 times.

Just looked into this and this may not be the limited edition as Tesco's Entertainment site has another listing for Medal of Honor limited edition for both consoles.

Links:
PS3: http://www.tescoentertainment.com/store/games/-medal-of-honor-limited-edition/8:709537/

Xbox 360: http://www.tescoentertainment.com/store/games/-medal-of-honor-limited-edition/8:709540/

My guess is that they've messed the artwork up as people at Tesco Ent HQ probably have no idea what the difference is. Was going to purchase this untill I found this out. To everyone that preordered, I think you might be a bit disappointed when the regular edition comes through your door on launch day...

Still, however, it is still a nice price considering you used both the 15% off and the £5 off voucher to bring it down to 28 odd pounds...

Your links didn't work, but I've no knowledge of an MOH LE that costs £65 or what it would contain, and I've been keeping a close eye on release developments for this game. There's also currently confusion over at GAME where they're listing a Standard edition, a Tier One edition and a Limited edition all for the same price of £39.99. I'm sure no edition worth £65 has been announced.

ordered using the £5 of code

I think everyone is a little confused about the LE of this game, including the retailers.

Shopto are now only taking orders for the LE, stating that "Anyone who has already pre-ordered the standard version of Medal of Honor will now automatically be upgraded to receive the Limited Edition for launch!" GAME are also saying the same, whilst still taking order for three different versions. oO

I am hoping that the MofH LE is going to be the same as the BC2 LE, with initial orders/pre-orders being sent out the LE, and the standard edition following later. I could well be wrong though.

Either way, I have taken a screen grab of the page, with the LE box art, and if I end up with the standard edition, I will be sending it back with a grumpy letter attached.

I believe this will be the limited edition. Play.com also has it for sale for just under £40. It is just a marketing ploy by EA so you get your purses out and pre-order.
Tesco have another item called "medal of honor limited edition" for £64.47 but none of the items mentioned by play.com or at the beginning of this thread warrant any extra money...who would pay for a few extra weapons?

I rang Tesco yesterday as they have changed the picture with the game to be the regular edition and not the limited edition. They said they put the wrong picture up and that this is NOT the limited edition. Just thought people should know before they find out when it comes through the door.
#17
...but they should have written to each & every customer who indicated an intention to purchase with the previously advertised item. They will wriggle out of it though (like they always do; "Left for Dead 2" [Xbox 360] & "Minority Report" [Steelbook Blu-ray Disc], being two examples) with the fact that the contract for sale has not been formed until the money is debited from the customer's payment method.

Well, that kind of sucks.

Having said that, I will keep my cheap preorder in - £25.66 after Quidco - as there is always a chance that the CS people have absolutely no idea what they are talking about.

If the LE drops through my door I shall be very pleased - if it is standard, I will just return it.

Frontline was a top game, worth it for that alone.

FYI: "Beta Feedback: How You Helped Shape Medal of Honor’s Multiplayer" (Blog.US.PlayStation.com)
---
Posted by Matthew Pruitt // Community Manager, EA, 23 August 2010

The Medal of Honor beta is now closed and we want to thank you, PlayStation fans, for supporting us! The turnout was tremendous and we could not have asked for a better experience.

It is always great to do a true beta like this, because at the end of the day, this game is for you, the gamers. We received some amazing feedback and opted to extend the beta to make sure that we were able to hear as much of it as we could. Twitter, Facebook, and our forums have been blowing up with comments and we have been taking many notes.

We have learned a lot, and we wanted to take this opportunity to run down some of the major changes/fixes we have made to the game as a direct result of your feedback.

Improved Hit Detection

This was a very big issue and came up many times in the forums. We are glad to say that hit detection has been vastly improved. We really tightened up the mechanics and essentially, wherever the bullet hits on the body — that is where the hit registers. It is even possible to shoot and have the bullet go between someone’s legs – it is that precise!

Weapon Pickups

Out of ammo? No longer do you need to find an ammo crate. Find the nearest dead enemy/friendly and pick up their weapon. And remember, the knife knows no ammunition, so if you really want to be Tier 1 — pull out that bad boy and start slashing your way to victory.

Support Actions Balanced

We heard the outcry and we have made adjustments. The support actions were tweaked and are now more difficult to achieve. There is always a fine line between what is too hard and what is too easy, but we think we have balanced it pretty well. It is just not fun when you are getting nailed with rocket and mortar attacks every 20 seconds.

Unlock Tree Expanded and Balanced

Your ascension to Tier 1 status will now be even more eventful. The unlock tree has been expanded for every weapon, providing an extensive series of choices.

Crash Fixes

Every beta has its crashes and the Medal of Honor beta was no different. We know it is frustrating, but it is all part of the beta process. The good news is that we have fixed the crashes and resolved a number of connectivity issues.

Major Graphic Overhaul

The graphics have been overhauled and upgraded. We are happy to report that the game looks even more spectacular than before.

Weapons

The weapons are essential to gameplay, obviously, and we made sure to concentrate on getting them right. The list is long and the changes are many. From zoom spread to damage inflicted, rest assured that every weapon has been modified.

These changes and fixes are just the tip of the iceberg. As we move toward the game’s release, we continue to improve the game every single day.

Make sure you follow us on Twitter, fan us on Facebook, and visit us at the official website for up-to-the-date Medal of Honor news and information.
