Does this mean that hmv become the cheapest place for Black Ops as they are doing it for £7.99 if you trade this in?

CeX stores sell: £35.00
CeX stores buy for cash: £21.00
CeX Stores give exchange value: £26.00

Is the HMV deal platform for platform - ps3 game swap for ps3 game? or can it be mixed?

I couldn't tell you I'm afraid, would have to ask in-store

Its actually says they don't on the website - says all cellophane wrapping must be removed (so therefore they can never know if something is new/used) - the difference in prices is they offer £30 for the special edition and less for this, the regular edition

Cheers whizz, looks a great deal, but what with buying PES 2011 for £17.99 from zavvi other day, and black ops on tuesday not gonna have time to open it let alone play it. but always worth considering for future. heated anyway

I am afraid you are wrong. (S) means sealed. So therefore this will get £30 cash for sure.
#13
Its the same with fifa 11 (s) means it sealed so they will give more etc.
#14
you will get 21 sealed or unsealed ive done trades before and yes it is same price as stated on site so it will not get 30 cash mighty mugger.
#15
(s) refers to the online pass. Sealed/unsealed doesn't make a difference.
#16
God some of you are complete idiots. S refers to sealed. DLC refers to the online code.

Cex will pay £30 per copy which is why I have ordered 5.

So think about it mate. If it is going to be unsealed more than likely the online pass will be used. If it is sealed the online pass will not be used - because the game has never been opened.

I know I am right, because I had to find out what (S) meant when I wanted to give my copy of Fifa 11 on 360 this year with CeX. So I know what I am talking about. Anyway if you still dont believe maybe when you are in CeX you can ask a member of staff and they will confirm this for you (hopefully your local is not as bad as mine). Or even email them and just ask.

Really want to try this game out, but got Black Ops on pre.

This is gonna be sub 20 shortly after COD release i think.

Gonna hold off, it looks a good game though.
#21
I was given this for my birthday, just played through the first mission.. so far, I like it a lot.
#22
Does this include the MOH Frontline extra like every other PS3 version I've seen? The image on Simplygames looks like it's an mock up rather than the actual cover.

THEY DO GIVE £30 AS I SOLD THEM A SEALED COPY FOR XBOX AND THEY GAVE ME £30 CASH. EVEN THOUGH THEY OPEN THE SEALED COPY AND SELL AS AN OPEN COPY.
#24
Can you sell them to CEX online at the same time you buy them on Simply? Buy 5 and sell them you make £25, almost enough for new COD! or just take on to HMW and swap for £7.99. Therefore COD for £32.85 + quidco (4% from Simply)

COD black ops for:

BUY 5 for: £124.25 (-)
SELL 4 for: £120 (+)
Cashback: £6 (+)
SWAP 1 at HMW: £7.99 (-)
POSTAGE COSTS: £5?????? (-)

COD = £11.24 (-)

(-) as in I pay £11.24 (17.24 up front coz quidco might take a while to come back)

Does that sound about right?

The Gadget Show this week mentioned a website that gives free gifts away for referrals so after looking around a while I found this article...
Free Black Ops

They also say you could get almost anything you want if you get enough referrals.
Might save you cash this year...

Just tried the 'sign up' link and the 'page could not be found'.....

Great game, really enjoyed the sp campaign, tons better then MW2 sp, the online is spoiled by Snipers, its almost a joke, but worth the £25 imo.

Just remembered you will have to wait for delivery from simply before you can actually go in to HMV and do the swap and unless you pay £3.99 for ganuarnteed delivery then it might not arrive on tuesday. But offer from HMW runs till 15th, just depends on your patience i suppose....mines pretty short!

Also ignore postage costs if your taking the game in. The price that CEX give might change tho?

Does anyone know if this is the 'Limited Edition' version with a few weapon extras etc?
#34
s means sealed and it does mean a better price, done it a few times now, they grade on condition so sealed is top of the tree.
#35
price is heading in the right direction thanks OP! ;)
#36
I'll do this if asda fail me with their pricing on black ops
#37
Haven't voted seeing as this is a terrible game and the price is likely to drop soon.
Doesn't make sense to me to assume the risk of being stuck with this garbage if you're attempting to work a trade in deal for Black Ops...

I posted this rant in another MoH thread:

Eldini
Really disliked MoH, borrowed it off of a mate and completed single player + played a bit of the MP before getting sick of it.

It all felt way too rushed and poorly designed. There are so many glitches in both the SP and the MP.
I couldnt believe how buggy the MP was, seeing as i was expecting just a reskinned version of BC2 without the vehicles, and slightly different class trees.
But there were many irritating bugs which are inexplicable considering they had a public beta...

The difficulty of the SP was way too low on hard. There were even relatively simple bugs like scripted moments werent triggering or triggering at the wrong point.
I was forced to restart a few missions due to this, couldnt complete one of the later missions in "stealth mode" due to these scripted moment bugs. Tried restarting the mission a couple of times and still wouldnt go. Highly irritating.

Also wouldnt recommend buying this game second hand based on how often it tried to check the validation of the online pass (which i didnt have, seeing as i borrowed it from a mate).

You'd think a single check would suffice, but every time you go back to the main MP menu or try to switch to a different game mode it insists on checking again, which can take up to a minute each time.
And considering how often it wouldnt let me connect to games due to the notoriously poor EA online coding, it booted me back to the main MP menu, and forced me to go through that code validation many many times.

One of the worst FPSes i've played in a long time, and i've played quite a few.
This game needed at least another couple of months worth of development.

To be fair you have to complete an offer and have your referrals complete an offer each too. Most of the offers are ridiculous e.g. take out car insurance, sell your car, switch to a specific gas company. The only free ones still involve giving the companies your card details and you still have to build a website on top of that to be approved. While it's still legit according to The Gadget Show, I can see if being a right faff on and the game will probably be sent 2nd class if you can persuade your referrals to build websites etc.
