Like a stuck record. Value is about more than just price. Maybe people think this is a **** game not worth £15?

Not quite, Hot UK deals is about cheap deals so this should only interest people who want the product and if it is a good price. People who have no interest in the product should not bother voting and posting stupid comments about not liking it.

Says who?

I am interested in multiplayer FPS games on the PC. But this is a crap one and there are better games to spend money on, so I voted cold. If it was £5 I might vote hot.

Now do you want to stop questoning other peoples' legitimate votes and telling other people what they should do? You have absolutely no authority here, neither as an official voice of the site, nor the moral authority of being correct.

Chill dude, I play fps games on pc too, It's your opinion that it's a crap game.

If I was looking on here for a deal on it then I think it's a good price, you shouldn't just vote cold because you think it's a poor product.

It is a deal site not a review site!!!

You just don't get it do you?

Yeah it's my opinion hence my cold vote (a vote is an expression of one's opinion or choice).

Indeed this is a deal site, not a price comparison site. As I said right at the start, a deal is about more than just price. A low prices for a crap product is not a hot deal. (Or maybe it is in your opinion in which case you are free to vote hot, but don't complain when other people don't follow suit.)

If this site used a system like you think it should, i.e. "if the price is the lowest for an identical product, then vote hot", then what is the point of people voting? Why not just have a computer compare the prices? Or just have one person look at the prices and declare that it's the lowest therefore the deal is hot? Why not just use Google shopping? Or Kelkoo? Or PriceRunner? Have you thought this through?

The votes are meant to express the combined, aggregated opinions of hundreds of different people. It's the wisdom of crowds. It's web 2.0. Get with it or get out of the way.

I agree with the other guy, this is a deal for people who like the game or may be interested and its not to be voted cold (unless it is a terrible game but I mean absolutely terrible e.g. glitchy and broke not just ooooooh I prefer the kill streaks in COD etc.) just on flight of fancy because your a COD man or whatever. You vote if its a hot DEAL not a hot product in your opinion. I have had this arguments with others and clearly there is a mix of the two views as you don't vote hot something craply over priced just because its cheaper than elsewhere but this game isn't over priced and it isn't bad enough to get voted cold just because we want to turn it to a review site.
People here need to learn to have a balanced view on things rather than jump to one side and having problems with how they vote (voting on price causes us to vote crap products good just because they're cheaper than elsewhere and voting on opinion is misguided and selfish, plus avoids taking into account that it could be a good deal for those that want it).
Your failing to take into account the price for the game isn't bad, your failing to take into account it a deal is mainly about price and not opinion as opinion dictates whether YOU will buy it but not whether the DEAL is bad. Very simple example being I may not like a car based on its looks but at a good price it is not a bad deal. Fair enough if you want to use your opinion now and again but ultimately as pointed out your just shouting whether you want it and not acknowledging it is a decent deal and I'm pretty sure people can look into and make up there own opinions on the game.

funny how opinions change in a couple of weeks http://www.hotukdeals.com/deals/medal-of-honor-16-ea-store/797357

What you are forgetting Llost, is that my opinion expressed as a vote does not determine whether or not the deal gets hot. It's the combined opinions of many people. To me that is a better measure of whether something is truly a hot deal than just robotically comparing the price.

You say people can look into whether or not the game is any good themselves. Actually I would say it's far easier for people to look into whether the price is the lowest or not. What's more difficult is deciding whether the price represents value for money. That is the beauty of this site. It fulfils a role that isn't otherwise easily met.

Well reading my post I advised against robotic price voting so that comment is fair but no skin off my teeth.

I agree with you its harder to base it on value for money but on value for money I wouldn't say £15 for a limited edition of a decent FPS is all that bad. Clearly none of us know the real role of this site as there is no real guide on how to vote and people vote differently but my argument is simply we need a balanced view as neither side works if done solely as they are (like I pointed out earlier) so think cold voting is reserved not for opinion on the game but rather opinion on the deal (e.g. price of a limited edition set of a game may be extortionate even if cheaper than elsewhere).

That's fine. You don't think it's bad value for money. Lots of people don't agree. We all vote how we like.

Personally I take into account which limited edition game is on offer, not just the fact that it's a game and it's limited edition. Each to their own though.

It can't be considered bad value for money as any sensible comparison of game prices shows this isn't a bad price for a game, only if your interjecting your own subjective opinion which is what judges whether you buy it and not if it is a good deal.

I'm not going to continue arguing as you have a sensible way of posting to some degree (I respect the logic of it and know we can all have our own ways of voting but just think mine is better but not so much as to arrogantly act as if it is the only way) but as stated we all have our own way of doing it and I feel my way would be better served but I doubt I can convince you and doubt much the severity of the need to.
