free 3 year warranty adds interest, good for the price.

Still don't get why they have a 64 bit processor yet are STILL using 32 bit windows.

And it's not just Medion, many others are also still doing it

Probably the cost (no doubt 32-bit-only can be gotten for a discount).

No idea why this has been voted cold.

Those who've voted cold, why not go and find a better deal and then post it here. Go on, go do it.
#7
its a good price as its made by medion, so its ok neither cold or hot me thinks.
#8
The price would be ok if it had a dedicated graphics card, but it has not by the looks of it.

Lots of cold votes, but no suggestion of whats better .... bit pointless IMHO

Should be a function on here to prevent cold votes without reason

This site appears to be overrun by miserable people, who missed out on a fantastic deal and now vote cold on every deal that is below fairyland prices.

Seems to be a pattern : Medion = Cold
As someone who is using a Medion Monitor to write this I don't always agree with that point of view.

Thought it might be voted cold but hey i posted anyway as i think its decent, who cares about the haters :p

hot for the price... but i have had a medion laptop from aldi. have had nothing but problems. 2 cracked lcd's one was repaired free, the second they quoted 250 so i did it myself. and now it's just gone back into repair for overheating charger. gets red hot with use. its spent more time in germany than here... so i've just replaced it with a macbook pro.

I bought a Medion P6620 lappy last year. It was £499 when it was first launched in August but dropped to £399 in October. It's been a great buy. As a Medion fan, I am yet again disappointed by the latest Medion offering. My lappy had an Nvidia 220M (aka 9600GT) dedicated graphics card with DDR3 memory so it can handle most modern games. This new laptop comes with Intel integrated graphics which is a very much a step backwards. I still hope that sooner or later Medion will put out a lappy with a Nvidia 240M or ATI 5650 and when they do, I'll buy it. Until then, my wallet's staying in my pocket.

Let me start by saying it looks good for the price and all that. Mind I personally feel that you dont need that much power and pay an added extra price, just because it is a portable.
I also like to warn people about two muppets. I bought a Pc from them years ago which never worked. Was reurn and supposefly fixed. Never was, twice over. Tooks me over 2months to get a refund. Be warned, they do offer good priducts, thou art thatprice it's just to high.
I look out for Argo clearance on ebay, or tesco clearance. Argos had a load of cheap laptops on there. Not sure on the spec, I wasnt loooking a core i3, but they start at 2.49 i beleive.

It's actually not bad. A lot of sub-£500 machines give only 1366x768 max on screen even though the graphics card can support a lot higher. The laptop industry has been moving into widescreen and that means sacrificing pixels on the vertical. Most people look at the horizontal and think...oh yes, its higher than my previous laptop....and then don't realise that the vertical is the killer. So much scrolling down because there isn't enough vertical space.

I agree with the others on this one - it shouldn't have been voted cold. Here's why:

- The processor is a Core i3 350, other i3 laptops listed on here are 330. That's a difference in performance right there.
- The screen resolution is 1600x900. Getting a laptop at a reasonable price with a screen res of higher than 1366x768 is harder and harder nowadays.
- Pretty much all of the sub-£400 i3 laptops on here are refurbs. This comes with a 3-year warranty.
- 500GB and 3GB RAM. Well, it was either that for £500 or a 250GB HDD with 4GB RAM. For the average home user 2GB is fine.

Seriously, if people are going to vote cold, the least you could do is give a reason.
"It's Medion". Grow up.

Thanks for posting - for me it's by no means a blazing hot deal but given the spec and warranty it shouldn't have been voted cold :|
