The Newquay store is coming up trumps at the minute! Situated by the till in a basket. About 10-15 sat navs in that basket alone.

4.3" Sat nav with TMC. 3 year warranty. Running on windows so shouldn't be difficult to 'enhance'

There was also normal 3.5" without tmc for £69.99?!?

Not 100% sure of the model

Does the TMC receiver come with it (or is it built -in) and how much is subscription (if any)? In other words: What model?

Wonder if nationwide or just local?

Looks to me like the MEDION® GoPal® P4210, which is the same as the F&H 4.3 Satnav with Turbodog 5.
You could get this one from ebuyer for £54.99 delivered. However the F&H has TMC as an extra, which makes me wonder if the Aldi/Medion has it really built-in. Would be nice to know.

If it turns out to be the same, it will run TomTom, iGO8, nDrive 9, Amigo, Route 66, MemoryMap, and extra WinCE menus.

Not sure.

I imagine it will be an extra in the box that will either plug into the 2.5 tmc port or usb like the garmin.

Lifetime subscription is included but unsure how you would go on if it was upgraded to tom tom or igo 8.

To be perfectly honest I wish I would have made a note of the exact model number

This was about £140 when I bought it earlier this year, so Bargain at this price. Unit works well although the algorithm that chooses the route can sometimes not be the best! TMC built it, but I’ve never seen it work when I am using it. It also has European Maps included.
Interesting about what you say running Windows CE. How do you access this, as there is no clear option to do so, and I would hate to lose the built in software? It also has POI Warner built it which for a modest life subscription you can get a regular up date of points of interest. Which interestingly enough lists the red light districts, now that’s not something that is mentioned on the advertising literature!!:whistling:

Brad,
either goto ebuyer forum
http://forums.ebuyer.com/showthread.php?t=51489

or Simplesatnav
http://www.simplesatnav.com/pctforum/index.php?board=18.0

for info on other version satnav to run on this.

You can run most gps programs from the SD card without any modification of your unit.

Be careful if you want to install the menus, because you need to make changes to the registry of your unit and need some knowledge of programming.. But you really only need the menus if you want to run games.

Can I ask:

How old are the maps?

Does it display current speed on the navigation screen - I know some Sat navs do not show this.

thnks
