Medion Akoya E1312 Netbook - £149.99 @ Aldi

Just spotted this in this weeks Tameside Advertiser from Aldi. It says "Celebrate a fresh new look at your Aldi Stalybridge Store". It is possibly a store specific deal. I would appreciate if anyone can confirm if this is available elsewhere?

Specification:

Processor: AMD Sempron 210u 1.5 GHz
RAM: 1GB RAM
HDD: 160 GB
Graphics: ATI Xpress 1250 IGP
Screen: 11.6" 16:9 1366x768
OS: Windows XP Home Edition
Weight: 1.42KG
Battery: 6 Cell 4,400mAh (3.5 hours in reviews)
Connectivity: 802.11n wi-fi, HDMI, ExpressCard, 3 x USB 2.0, VGA out, Bluetooth

Review: http://www.pcpro.co.uk/reviews/netbooks/262666/medion-akoya-mini-1312

Good deal for a better than average spec netbook. Not the fastest with having Ion graphics, but still for a netbook with Windows XP and 11.6" HD screen. It isn't a shabby deal.

Please don't vote cold because there is none in your store or because it's from Aldi/Medion.

Excellent price for a basic netbook with XP. Aldi often add a 3 year guarantee too, but that's not stated here.

Just found specs off the net. Didn't find anything on a 3 year warranty.

Good deal. This is store specific. In the Camberley Aldi, they have a couple of much reduced lappies for sale. BTW, Medion stuff is ok despite what some people say!
#5
This is the best pirce for Medion I think. This deal is going to be hot.
#6
All Medion equipment sold by Aldi has a three year warranty. It also states this on the box.Got mine for £199 & has proved to be an excellent machine. If you can get it for this price, well even better.
#7
What is the store's address? i.e. postcode, telephone?
#8
Such a shame this is store specific - I was going to buy an 11.6" Netbook next weekend anyway, and the cheapest I can find is the Acer at £199 - Would definitely have bought this instead!!

Google is your friend.
#10
Is the processor on this faster than the Intel Atom processors that are usually on other netbooks?

Thx

Sorry, couldn't make out the writing on your photo. Do you have a bigger one? :p
#13
Excellent deal and got a nice hdd, and a good size screen for the price.... love these netbooks installed project64 on one with similar specs works great with super mario 64, and super smash bros 64 better than a ds.
#14
This is almost worth going to Aldi for, voted hot.
#15
Id like to buy it but it must be store specific....

Its £210 on medion website.
#16
I paid £210 for the E1311 which has a nearly identical spec =[ still pees all over my atom based aspire of old
#17
I wished ppl would tell which store it is when they list store specific deals. How much on petrol will this cost me to get? This is NOT hot for me, I guess.
#18
Good deal, but probably no more than 5 available!

Damn good deal but bound to be store specific and in typical Aldi fashion there will only be around 5 of them to buy

Do people actually read previous posts? :)
#21
Got to be a hot deal.

According to the specs you had written earlier, THIS DOES NOT HAVE ION GRAPHICS
#23
Good deal but probably only got 3 or 6 for sale at this price.

PML at this ! LOL ! Nice one !:-D
(I'll be trying to buy one of these tomorrow !)

You normally either can't get one because they either have a limited stock or the bloke from the local corner shop/market has been down there since opening and has bought them all. :whistling:

This is soberingly true tho'
#25
Exceptional deal if you can get it!
#26
If this had a radeon 3200, would have been scorching. The x1250 is way past its best, even compared to the gma 4500mhd. Still a good price, but doesn't yet tempt from away from my old eee 701 4g
#27
So what is the date of this deal?
#28
Oh I take it this is tomorow then? As in Monday 22nd feb? Sotre opens 9.00Am I imagine there will be a load of people outside at 7.00AM

well, it does actually say "stalybridge" in the original post. And i would hazard a guess @ £40 round trip in fuel for you, this is me taking a complete stab in the dark that you live 200 miles away and drive 48CC scooter!!.

and no, this will probably not be hot for you unless of course someone hand delivers this to you free of charge.

excuse the sarcasm.

fantastic price for a netbook of this spec, despite it being medion.

hot from me.

I agree, where is your "local" anyway?
#31
This deal is very local to me, staly bridge being just 3 miles away. But as with most Hot deals I always ask myself the question do i need it? Do I really want it? Would I use it that much? Have I got anything currently that can already perform the task I would require? And am I gonna simply see a better deal round the corner soon.

I dont know, it would be handy as the only portable internet device I have is my PSP which isnt the best. And it could replace one of the p4 PCs I have running in to my TVs. But its not vital, and if I was getting a new PC I would definately prefer windows 7 as ive had XP for the last 8 years or so and im sick of it.
#32
"thabiz" thanks for sharing your life story it was very intereszzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz :)
#33
phot's are always nice, but i hope to god no one is reading this thread on the netbook in question, holy resolution batman!

Its kinda considered normal behaviour to at the very least 640x480 photos for forums if not thumbnail them with sites like photobucket, etc

Great post, voted hot.

My Asspire one died on me with one months warranty left.Asda gave me my £150 back. These Medions when released last June were £329.So for me to add an extra £50 & snap one up for £199 at the Newquay Aldi was a no brainer avec the 3 Year cover.Yes I am on the netbook in question but as you can tell, not quite cursing yet.
#35
I got this from the medion site from the previous scotty deal which got to over 700 degrees a few weeks ago. Great netbook. If you can get it for £150 and 3 yr warranty...smokin!

Still, a X1250 still ****** all over a GMA 950 at this price point.

Pitty, I was intending getting one for my dad.

I do wish Aldi would have better stock supply for their computer deals.
#39
Just called Aldi Head Office to do a stock check and they said the whole region (that apparently covered Peterborough to the South Coast) was out of stock.

Thanks OP anyway, looks like a great netbook for a great price!
