Not as good a deal as the S5610, and not available in either of my local stores. Looks like I will have to keep looking for the right deal:x
#2
I got one of these too looking for the other one interested to see what people say too
Brucem i went to that exact store where they got the s5610 deal and i think they put the box for the s5610 in place of this laptop and somehow honoured it. The s5610 was there but at 499, had 100 quid off the original selling price of 599.
If anyone needs ta picture and info its here http://www.medion.de/ms/aldi/e5312/us/flash.html

Just reserved one at my nearest Sainsburys with stock. Interested to hear any opinions / reviews.

well I picked one up for a friend who needed a laptop his budget was £299
for what he needs this was pretty much perfect , better graphics card would have
been nice but specs seem pretty decent if you compare it to what else is out
there for that price. £499 price wouldn't have been a good deal but for a laptop
that you dont have to sit ant wait around to get delivered i think it's good.

I feel people are voting cold off the back of the previous deal listed.

Came out at £293.40 at till because of VAT reduction.

I agree i am on a budget too and used it now and well pleased with it its not in the same league as the other one posted but that was 200 quid more for a reason

Purchased one of these this morning, seems very good value for the spec. Easy to set up.:-D

still think the acer at tesco`s is a better deal 2.2 dual core 2gb of ram, £330 ish after discount codes
#8
This is a good deal for anyone looking for a proper size laptop for a netbook price. Definitely wasn't worth the original price.
#9
would like it if people would say which local store you saw the deal in or are you supposed to guess,as with the acer laptop post, went to my local sainsburys in derby and that was still £499

Jus picked one of these up, seems quite nice. Keyboard is a little.. umm.. plasticy? (as if it was like a fake display model feel). Other than that quality feel is good, comes with laptop bag and mouse. I've only had Dells/HP's before so i cant compare with slightly more budget brands. Will be testing it out on games and graphical programs soon so will try keep you updated.

Side note: when people say budget of £xxx if you can afford the extra pennies by all means go for the better spec one, but do you NEED that spec is the question..
eg £350 for 32" full HD tv or £500 for 42" its only £150 more for an extra 10".. but do u need that?

Edit: Another thing to point is that it uses 1 slot for the 2gb RAM (5,5,5 300mhz) so potential for 3-4GB upgrade without too much ££.
Source - CPUz (however the frequency jumps from 160mhz to 320mhz for some reason.. could anyone explain why?)
