I thought I saw these in Sainsburys yesterday for £249.

It's possible it was a slightly different model; I wasn't thinking of buying so didn't look closely.

600 on horizontal res, lotta webpages won't like that

get http://www.cdiscount.co.uk/Computing/LaptopsNetbooks/NetBooks/msi-wind-u100/f-614-179194.html instead.
Bigger hard drive, bluetooth etc and they're what the medion, advent 4211 etc are rebadged from.

I think it has no bluetooth...

They definitely had a few Medion Akoya netbooks for around £250 in with the rest of the seasonal clearances in my local branch, but couldn't tell you if it was the exact same model as this.

Could you give us a link to one for a similar price to the Medion then?

This is basically an MSI Wind.

It's the cheapest OS X computer you can get. I have the Advent 4211 (another name for it). Trust me, it runs Mac OS X perfectly! I totally recommend this PC, it's awesome! I also have Windows 7 running on it, it's perfect.

Oh, and people querying web pages? They look fantastic on here! No problems whatsoever! I was worried originally, but everything displays perfectly.

Not a bad price at all. Got mine for around £300 when they came out a while back. Nice and easy to upgrade the RAM and hard drive too :) My brother has the Advent 4211 and both are decent little machines for surfing and whatnot.

If you need the bluetooth, you can pick up the little dongle for next to nothing on Deal Extreme too.

Yeah, I think he means 600 lines vertical and thus its not really a restriction.

Not a fair comparison - that's in a different league, & the £480 pricetag reflects it. With 9300M GS graphics that's almost like a 'gaming' netbook.

horrible resolution - not even HD - i dont think i've ever used a non HD screen on a PC/Laptop :p

This is a netbook - how can you expect HD res ? Most laptops don't have that kind of res either.

Erm why hot £250 @ Sainsburys.

Saw this today at Sainsbury's and it's definitely the 80GB model - differs from the similar MSI wind by having a smaller hard drive - but draft N Wi Fi Card (though difference will not matter to most). Was just a tatty display box priced at £249.

Bear in mind that you can get the identical ADVENT 4211 on dixons.co.uk at £253.81 - which has a 120GB HD if you use the discount codes - NET5 & SALE 25.

To be honest the ADVENT is the better buy given they are all MSI Wind Clones - given the bigger HD. Just irritating to buy stuff from DSGi !
