Great for a holiday phone or sat nav etc.

1gb with 16gb (should be about 12gb free to use) built in will be ok for loads of apps so long as they aren't games.

I've come to treat the daily contemplation of 1gb smartphones as a zen activity TBH, (not that I'm a pseud or anything)

Isn't android 6.0 optimised to work with phones offering 1GB of RAM?

Although I would never have this as my main phone I can see lots of uses for it, a sat nav, strava phone, keep it in the car and use it as a car phone.
Visiting guest from another country phone.

No, nor with any phone. The RAM is used to hold data in memory for the running of the OS - generally, more RAM allows for greater multitasking and speedier operation and switching between apps etc.

You're thinking of unified storage where the SD card is used as a "seamless" extension (in theory) of the built in storage, as if you bought one with 32GB instead of 16GB, for example.

Perhaps they were referring to how they have to operate the phone to cope with the limited RAM, rather than this thread?

What did we do when phones had 512mb? You know, the ones folk said were amazing 4 years ago.

For most folk 1gb will be enough.

Nice price for the spec, does anyone know if this can be rooted to remove all the bloat ware?

And used task managers to make sure apps closed and weren't running in the background.

Obviously this isn't a phone I would use as a main phone. But could be nice to have as a back up phone, or first phone for young kids and so on.

It will get hammered by the mobile phone pursists, but for a tad less that £50 & A 3 YEAR WARRANTY, its damn good value.

Great deal, thanks op been after a business phone that will also run social media for business and dual SIM is a bonus. Higher spec 13 MP camera listed on Amazon so unsure what the actual camera will be. Have ordered and am sure it Will do all I require and some.

Is this a better deal than the Moto G4 play? I currently have a temperamental Galaxy Core Prime so not used to all singing and dancing phones.......

Yes I'd say so, its much cheaper with basically the same spec. Also this has bonus duel sim.

Only the white variant available online, must be selling fast.
#35
I had one , set it up but it just kept freezing .
I only loaded a few apps , nothing beefy.
I had to take it back for a refund . :(

Don't you need a gyro for that and other VR? This hasn't got one.

Honestly, I reckon it will struggle, and crash often.
