in which case than it actaully a good price, dont think you will get a 17" laptop with that spec for that price anywhere else
what will it be like for gaming? Sims 2 etc..?

This is not a serious gaming laptop by any stretch of the imagination but i do not think that you will get a better one for around the same price with a 17" screen. The graphics card is middle of the road so should easily be able to cope with games like sims 2, I had a look at the system requirements for the sims 2 and this machine meets them all. but do not expect this machine to play the newest of games like crysis
Well I think it is a good deal and have ordered one
Thanks curofon, rep added and also heat to the deal :)

yes, spend the extra, this is better on memory, storage, graphics and CPU

Personally i would go for the medion, has a much better processor, extra 1gb of ram although neither of them state what mhz the RAM is, bigger hard drive and they are pretty much equal on graphics, maybe the toshibas are slightly better although an 8 year would never test either graphics card to the max.

The toshiba is a better brand but medions are not bad they are just not massivly known over here (although that is changing) my opinion of them is they build good machines at reasonable prices, i have a medion laptop that is 2 years old and still going strong
I just received mine and can confirm the build quality seems very good. Nice gloss black lid that is nice and ridged, seems better than my mothers 17" Acer laptop.

Has a Windows Experience Index of 4.5 so is very good for a laptop. (5 for Graphics and 5.2 for disk.)

It really is a good buy.
Does anyone know what the warranty was on this? The graphics card on the one i bought has just died :(
Just found out, its 12 months :(
