In fact it has been this price so long, I wouldn't call it a deal at all anymore, just Tesco normal price.

There is a good review for this on http://www.computershopper.co.uk/
There isn't a direct link but type in Medion Akoya P6888 in the search box and it comes up. The review gave it 5stars saying it is the best buy budget pc at the moment. This review is in the December issue of Computer Shopper. Hope that helps someone.

Was here at £486 also http://www.hotukdeals.com/item/252594/medion-akoya-pc-system-p6888-with-b/
Got mine Superb piece of kit for the money.

Is this PC better than Aldi's Medion P7300D for the same price???
#9
Meh.... Building a custom pc will get better specs than this.

Bargain, Hot!! :)

Why do people always say this!!??

Yes of course it will, however not everyone can or wants to build a PC from scratch! :?

If I bought all the parts to a Ford Focus I could probably build that cheaper than Ford are selling them....:whistling:
#12
will probably cost ~ 30% to build it .
#13
Its a terrible graphics card voted COLD
#14
no even a wireless connectivity for this price ?
#15
This is a pile of ****

I beg to differ.....the CPU is £150, GPU £90, MB £50-£100, RAM £50 thats A bit more than 30% and thats not including HD and DVD RW etc...

I think its a good deal but not as good as the 7300 ie worse GPU and less RAM.
#18
Quickly pricing this up with oem products from a online store and you get to £495 and that doesnt include a case or grx card and the software (oem windows costs £70 odd).
For a cheap server to stick all my media on (3TB of usb disks) plus I can get 10% off this price its not bad at all, im very tempted.
Anyone know how noisy it is?

Rubbish, the processor alone costs that.
#21
Not a bad deal, i got it myself and does the job for someone who doesn't play that many games but ALDI will be selling an alternative model for £499 as of this Thursday. (27th NOV) Similar spec but features 64-bit Vista, 4Gig Ram, 9600GT card, HDMI and Scart socket...but no Blu-Ray.

More info here at their website: WWW.MEDION.CO.UK

This will cost you £120 for q6600, 40 quid for mb,£30 for ram, 30 quid for graphics card, 40 quid psu. 70 quid for hdd. 65 quid for blu ray drive. 60 quid for windows vista, cheap mouse keyboard 15 quid. cheap case 30 quid So a grand total of:- £470. Tho you could just download vista for free, saving you 60 quid, if you wanted. so really its only 410 quid.
#23
Where are you costing the items from?? £30 for Graphics card!! lol
#24
I started out on the "you can get better cheaper" - but after googling round, you're reallly only going to beat it on Ebay - and this at least has the advantage of being a reputable (of sorts) dealer that you can throw it at if there's a problem.
I could build better for about £450...but like someone said, not everyone can - and for the time involved, I wouldn't do it for the extra £50 either...nor would anyone want me to, when they can go to Tesco.

the 9300 is a low end graphics card, they put in low end pcs. its aboyt the same as the 3450, whic is less than 30 quid. the 9300 is rubbish.
#28
Got one for £440.10 with 10% staff discount (kids work there) and £9 off voucher.
It will make a fine file server where grx arent important or indeed needed.
Hot from me.
#29
I'd be really interested in finding out how noisy this machine.
#30
as ever they slip up with **** graphics cards, oh and its vista, yuk, but for the avergae joe out there its a good deal, why pay more they loose money so fast there worthless in 12-18 months as they are superseeded by the next bang and whistle...long live XP.

Sorry yes, was looking at the GF9600GT that the Aldi deal has.

I hope your just joking because it will be much more.

Q6600= ~ £150(already 30%)
Motherboard= ~ £50
Ram= ~ £30~
Case= ~ £30
Blu-ray Drive= ~£55
PSU= ~ £35(decent but low rating for a build like this)
1TB Hard drive= ~£75
Total: £425

So no way in hell is this bad, sure you can build a better quality pc with long warranties but for people who cant build a pc then paying £75 more is very reasonable, that covers labour so how can people complain about it?.

Voted hot.
#34
Cold - is not a hot deal as it's been this price for ages and the Aldi Medion Akoya 7300 has a lot better specs for similar price.
#35

WOW free vista... Now thats HOT:w00t:

Why dont you post that deal????

because its illegal :whistling:

This has been posted many times before and the debate about building vs pre-built rages on. If you don't want to or can't build one then this is a good deal. Even if you can build your own, this deal has become closer in value to a build-your-own since the drop in value of the pound against the greenback (most components are now about 20% more expensive while pre-built have stayed the same).

GPU is £25
The mATX M/B they use will be about the same as the GPU - £30 - with onboard GPU, no doubt.
K/B, mouse, case, card reader and PSU bundle comes to about £30 (check ebuyer).
a £70 HDD
a £67 Bluray at Scan
a £130 CPU
£25 of RAM
£15 TV tuner
Vista HP OEM for £60
That's about £460... and you know what you're getting. But you also have to wait for some specials. It's a lot of effort to save only a little.

I need a New PC..My Mobo K8N-E Deluxe has packed up on me..I usualy Build my own..But Cost is Rather Higher than you lot are putting in here..I am interested in ALDi's one..Anyone know what Mobo it has & are they any good..
OR if ya good at finding the right componants at a Good price, Please DO Tell..
4GB RAM----Intel® Core™2 Quad processor Q8200 (2.33GHz, 4 MB cache, FSB 1333MHz).---1000GB hard disk (Serial ATA 2, 16 MB cache). ---Multi-Standard DVD/CD Writer---NVIDIA® GeForce® 9600GT (512MB GDDR3 RAM with HDMI and DVI output). < Hope to see you give us a Great Price TONIGHT...IF Not I vote Aldi Hot n This Cold..
#38
Problem with the aldi deal is that stock tends to be very limited so unless you're prepared to queue outside in the cold on a weekday, the tesco deal is more viable.
#39
Would be a great buy if only it had a decent graphics card.

Would be a great buy if only it had a decent graphics card.

The Aldi deals usually fall down in this department as well - they have all the right numbers - and all the right terminology for their "bargain" multimedia systems but the graphics card is never what you'd actually want or need...

When you look at these systems with their lowly graphics option you have to wonder what you'd really need any of the extra horsepower (only the CPU in this case) for at the end of the day - to play blue-ray movies?

If this system came with a good graphics option it would be a deal...
