I'm a bit out of date with my CPU knowledge, but this seems to be a decent/recent chip
Quote Wikipedia:- it's an Ivy Bridge – 22 nm Tri-gate transistor process technology chip Ooo!
Introduced April 2012...(think it's still current...well probably to the end of this year!)
It's a bit light on Storage, and RAM, not sure how much more the Motherboard could take, and it could do with a half decent Graphics card.
Shipping extra at £6.95, inc VAT

It's terrible, the 3330 is pretty old now, I did little to no research on cheap parts and made this build.
You can remove the disk drive and save £20.

@CameronB, sorry, been there done that and it's just not worth the supposed savings these days especially when you have omitted the all important Windows 8 OS.
...and what are you expecting to store the OS and Files on if you decide to "save" £20? oO

it only comes to £289, surely you can get Windows 8/7 on eBay for £50 or less? To come under the cost of the Lenovo.

Your username, implies that you are a seeker of deals, not a slavish chaser of every last penny!
Would you really go to all the trouble of sourcing the component parts (let's face it Scan are not always the cheapest on each and every part) then pass up half a day of your free time to build the machine, ...and probably the other half day installing drivers and Operating System, then testing that it all works seamlessly?
All for the price of a pint! X)

To be honest, yes! I built my own computer after owning a prebuilt one for a while and it's the best thing I've done. It actually cost me less than the Lenovo and is much, much better.

Me too, and I agree that for the money you can build better machines cheaper than the retail prices.
However "Tempus Fugit" and though my machine is more powerful than those I could buy with the same money today, the technology and CPU Architecture have moved on and I;ve decided to use my current machine for a 64bit Linux Distro and just get something like this to keep a not too shabby foot in the Microsoft camp! ;)

Your build has No OS, no multi card reader no Keyboard and mouse and not SFF so taking all that into account I think it is a pretty good deal. I think you would be well over this price to build with those criteria.
