Quality Album .... i bought the entire discography off the back of this  .......... Wheres 'Souljacker's opinion .... he must be offline LOL
.... Its worth noting though that this isnt the version with the videos DVD ( http://www.play.com/Music/CD/4-/3595096/Meet-The-Eels-Essential-Eels-Vol-1-1996-2006/Product.html ) which even includes a somewhat funny layback commentary by E and his dog.

Good spot, and great band - but it should be noted there is a version that includes a DVD with videos, and it looks like this is not it.

It may be worth throwing out a quid or two extra to get that one, as it's worth it to have all their (brilliant) videos!

Does it make them a bad band because you have never heard of them? No. Are you trying to tell us you have never bought an album on a whim cos of what someone has said to you, or due to a review you might have read? Trust me, he has written some beautiful songs that are worthy of a place in anybody's collection. Some rock, some ballad, some happy, some sad. Take a chance!

'Its a MotherF***er' is a sublime ballard, second only to 'Dirty Girl' ... really the only duffer on the album is 'Fresh Feeling' cause it really sounds like its made for a washing up power ad. Interestingly E has turned down many requests to use his songs in adverts (and i can guess which song LOL)

You may have never heard of Eels, but you have certainly heard their music. They are used extensively on adverts, for BBC promo videos between shows, in many many movies including Shrek, American Beauty, Knocked Up, Road Trip and more. You have probably heard 15 different songs by them without even realising it.

Ah yes, the Eels. It's more of a rotational-band effort in reality though - Mark Everett is an absolutely cracking artist (go and do some research - he's had a tough life by all accounts).

Some real gems on this disc - but you should check out some other songs too.

Saw him a couple of years ago playing a selection of tunes in classical style.
I was blown away.
Amazing scenes.
One of the greatest song writes of my generation that is for sure.
Amazing find, time to get the card out again!

This band seems vaguely familiar, especially that track Novacaine For The Soul.
Seem to remember really liking that .
Have to check out the rest of the tracks.

I just found this site where you can listen to the album :)

Me too - just before Blinking Lights was released... With him was a chap whom he called The Chet (I think) who seemed to be able to play anything, including the musical saw! One of the best gigs I have ever been to! Top treat!

Last.FM is a great site - you can use audioscrobbler with WMP/iTunes etc to track everything you play and create charts and lists of your listening habits and so forth.
