You only used to be able to book 6 weeks in advance for travel....... - however now it appears to let you book 5 months in advance.... Great if you have got a date in the future you want to book....

Seems great. Unfortunately they only operate to London and Stoke-on-Trent for me (Liverpool). I'll keep an eye on this company as I use National Express quite a lot.

if you book in advance you should be able to get 'funfare' prices for as little as a pound with National Express on most of their routes. (just another tip for you) :whistling:
#8
I looked at that option - however couldnt find any funfares after 6 weeks time... could only book next six weeks....

i never knew this as its probably about 5-6 weeks in advance that i probably book. i use National Express tho as it actually goes to Birmingham coach station, i looked once at megabus but i didnt know the place it would have droped me off at.

Funfares from national express always work out cheaper for me whenever i book nowadays, plus they dont charge the 50p booking fee that you have to pay with megabus.

It's the economy branch of Arriva I think... A bit like Tesco Value ;-) I used it to go to Oxford and they actually "upgraded" me to the Oxford Tube, from the same company ;-)))))

If you're talking about megabus, then no. Megabus were setup to rival National Express, and to try and offer lower fares. They are part of the Stagecoach Group, and the Older buses that they use are from Hong Kong - Tri Axle double deckers that were part of Stagecoach Hong Kong's operations. :)

And The Oxford Tube is operated by Stagecoach (I Think), so that's why you will have gone on them.

never used them before...

they quoted me £36 in total for 2 adults going from Manchester to London and back again next week.

Ryanair will fly us both there and back for £40 including all taxes and charges...

...either Megabus isn't such a good deal for my trip or ryanair are upto something :/
#14
Since when do ryanair fly from London - Manchester?

lol.... I love Blackpool Airport, there's just something about staying in the Premier Travel Inn and waking up in the morning to the smell of Jet Fuel, and then having dinner in the 2 for 1 next door :-D

i've used this company a few times and have been impressed with their service thus far. has not been delayed a single time. latest trip was from london to scotland and it only cost me 1.5 quid! bargain! spent the night sleeping on the bus and arrived in the morning. there's also another train company called Megatrain - www.megatrain.com with cheap train fares as well. a friend of mine went to portsmouth and back for 2.5 quid! :-)

Yup, Megabus is part of Stagecoach, which is why they go through Perth :).

My boyfriend and his sister (from Perth, living in Edinburgh and Aberdeen) have been using them for the last 4 or 5 years to travel home with no problems. The only time I've ever heard my boyfriend complain was when the Forth Road Bridge was shut, and the driver waited for an hour hoping it would open, before taking a detour through Stirling.

Yep used Megabus several times. In my experience they tend to be slow double decker buses but get you there :P
Sometimes you get the newer buses, if your lucky.

You need to book at least a few weeks in advance to get the stupidly cheap prices.

Megabus are amazing! I've used them via the Oxford Tube all the time, saved a bundle.

Great if you happen to live near one of the (fairly limited) locations they serve, but not much good if you don't... shame really!
