Before you rate please bear in mind that this isn't like all the other cheap tat and fake phones you See on DealExtreme.

The just released Meizu, and I think it looks beautiful.

All the details and specs are in the link, but this is at the top of the smartphone game at the moment.

Also there is English language support, not just chinese like in the pictures.

This is a great phone, better than iphone 4 spec wise
    Blasphemous
Plus the Tax when Customs have a look at it! And when something goes wrong with it.....?

As much as I love DX I wouldn't trust them with £290 of my money.

DealExtreme and not fake, those two words cannot be used in the same paragraph,
also customs will love that one, and what about a guarantee, no customers rights or trading standards in China.
They are OK for taking a risk on a junk couple of quid item, but no nore than that.

Avoid this junk - spend your money elsewhere!

Meizu are a joke of a company, if you ever read tech blogs, you'll know that- they've been working on this iPhone clone since the iPhone came out

Spend the same money on a decent HTC handset

I know almost all of their stuff is fake, but this isn't:

You also get a 12 month warranty, however you would have to ship to DX who then forward it on to Meizu.

And how much would customs charge? as much to rise this price to a brand new Galaxy? definitely not.

I live on tech blogs, and the "iPhone clone" you are talking about is the Meizu M8, which is not what this is.

Meizu have turned into a proper phone company who want to give genuine products, not clones.

I would have thought you would have realised it if you had followed the link.

You didn't link to a review, and if you look around, there aren't many reputable reviews online.
Is your other name Jack Wong, Meizu CEO?

And you didn't link to any sites that said that they have been working on this phone since the iPhone came out...

and there aren't any reviews for this handset because it has only just come out in China, if you can speak Chinese there are loads of reviews on YouTube.

And of course I'm not Jack Wong, but this company brings out a genuinely good phone and is just starting in the phone area, yet they brought out a bad phone and now they get a bum wrap?

Does everyone hate on Apple because they brought out the III or Lisa? NO.

Hmm, ~£300 for an imported device and [difficult/costly to redeem] warranty is not a safe bet whatever way you look at it. Like others have said, go with a HTC alternative for the same price and without the hassles...

I agree... the HTC Desire can now be had for £320.

looks like a really nice phone well worth the money if willing to take the risk

To be fair compared to all the iphone clones out there, meizu is a fantastic brand, before I bought my first ipod I had a miezu m6 which was just as good as my ipod. The only reason I binned it was because I told my sister to plug the charger in for me and she plugged the charged into the headphone socket and completely fried the insides!

If I didn't have an iPhone I would have bought this.

...yeah easily done... had a cheap Dealextreme B'tooth stereo headset that charged through the headphone jack

£290 + £58 VAT + £8 Royal Mail "Admin" Charge = £356. Seems a lot for a phone you have to hope works out the box and keeps on working, because sending it back will be a real pain in the backside.

Bit hefty for an unknown brand. Lot better off going with a network, least if it has a fault you can throw it at someone.

Sorry you got nailed on this one Lost Symphonies. It's a good post and heads up. The M9 is getting a lot of buzz but it's unfortunate Meizu gave themselves such a crappy reputation from the last few years.
    azza87
What crappy reputation? I've always thought they were great.
