Note that it's not compatible with SDHC cards though.

Good point! But great if you do need it to be compatible with SDHC. Thanks for pointing that out

Also is it USB2 (no, not just "compatible") because it'll be rather slow if it isn't. Looking at the description, it "probably" is...

Does it fit into a 5.25' drive (DVD-ROM size) or a 3.5' (Floppy size) drive?

It would be unlikely to fit into the delivery van if it were five and a quarter feet long. :)

Unlikely to, as it's a unit on it's own with no holes/mounts. If you need one that can be fitted into either you're looking at something like this:

Sweex CR005V3 All-in-1 Int Card Reader [3.5"] = £7.99 @ Amazon

Related Amazon search.

Several on DealExtreme too (incl 5.25" ones), but try to avoid the cheapest ones if you can.

Also note that some come with various other ports too if you need them, like USB, Firewire, headphone/mic, e-SATA.

You'll be surprised what they can squeeze into those delivery vans these days ;-)

I have this one it's great, works out of the box with Ubuntu Linux, just plug and play. It has a small LED that lights when operational and flashes when transferring data. The reader comes with a mini-USB cable for connection, with the added bonus that this cable can be used as a data transfer cable for other devices too, for example a mobile phone.

7-day shop also do this one http://www.7dayshop.com/catalog/product_info.php?cPath=777_5&products_id=105987 which 35 in 1. It is more expensive but worth considering if you need the exta flexibility.
