can someone explain the cold votes - looks a good price to me, thx in advance
#2
Yes, I don't understand the cold votes either. It's the cheapest I've seen for a while.
suspended#3
yeah an absolutely brilliant price!
#4
Given the quality of some of the stuff that comes from deal extreme, what are the chances of this being a genuine Sony Pro Duo?
#5
Be nice if someone actually said that when they were cold voting!

Give others a clue as to any probs
#6

Doesn't say Sony anyway...

yeah :) I'd avoid these, guys. For an extra few quid you can get decent memory. Fakes have MANY drawbacks
#10
Fake, hence cold vote.

Could you post up a picture of the one you bought, for comparison to the ones on the website?

Listen, I'm sick of people getting sarcy on this forum whenever I try to be honest and helpful.

so, Saayinla, you really want to be left with a dud card that won't be read in anything, perhaps after five minutes use? Or a card that states that it's 4gb, but data corrupts after it goes past the 2gb mark? what about the casing of the MSPD peeling apart? useless then. Or the fact that their read/write speed is drastically crappier than the genuine article, or the lack of warranty?

Buy it if you really must. But if something's videogame related in future, please don't question me. I'm actually omnipotent when it comes to anything to do with the subject.

Cold from me, lets face it fake cards are renowned to be cheaply manufactured so split easily, also as others have stated corrupted data usually happens. I would sooner spend £13 on a kosher 2gb one than a dodgy 4gb one.

I didn't buy mine from DealExtreme but I can garantee anybody thinking about buying one that it will be a fake. The fact that DE have photoshoped the Sony logo out is a big giveaway. The one I got was from eBay and the level of accuracy that goes into making them look genuine is very impressive (even had the hologram on the packaging). It's difficult to find genuine Sony Pro Duo cards, I even found my local Maplin store was selling the fakes (they probably didn't even realize).

The one I got has split in two down the plastic casing. It doesn't read/write as fast a genuine card so PSP games don't run as they should (games will freeze while it tries to keep up, racing games are no use) and transferring files takes ages. Here is a good eBay page detailing how to spot the fakes........

Like superpooper said, this site can sometimes be frustrating when people don't believe you or take advise offered from personal experience. I could care less if people buy these only to find out they're total rubbish. Just don't come moaning when the sh*t hits the fan and you lose all your data as if you weren't warned.

Got the 2gig one about 7 weeks ago and it packed up on Friday.Looked at the returns policy and as I read it I think you have to pay for shipment both ways to return faulty goods.

Submit a ticket for it. They will ask you to find out how much it costs to return it. If it costs more than 30% of the purchase price, they will let you keep it and send another.

I personally would see if you can get a refund, as they will send you another fake memory stick.

I have been trying to point out that their "Sony" memory sticks are fake, but some people see the price and buy it anyway. About 50% of these people are going to be very disappointed.

Pay a few £'s extra and get a genuine one.

CHEAP PRO DUO

Has anyone received their memory card yet? I am interested to see if they are genuine or not. The price is excellent if they are.

Me too. I still want to know if they've got SONY stamped on them or if they're just 'legal', fully working generics.
