Just keep in mind that it's not a Sony product (I know you didn't mention otherwise).

They still work sweet. Will be little delay if any voted hot..!

Voted cold, you would be wasting your money on a unreliable memory stick with poor build quality, much better spending £20 on a 4gb one than risking on this tosh, at least these companies that manufacture these have not attempted selling them as fake sonys or sandisk.
#4
Voted cold because its fake, rubbish build quality and will give poor transfer speed (useless for psp isos). I have a fake 4GB version of this card and its total mince. Also the only reason you don't see SONY on the packaging or card is because DealExtreme have had it photoshoped out to avoid legal issues. The item you get will have the fake SONY branding (I'll show you pics of mine to prove it if you want). Hotukdeals shouldn't allow this to be advertised on their site as it is counterfeit goods.

always used fake Memory Duos had no problems at all voted hot

At its price there is a chance you will get hit with duty upon import - which also means the additional 8ish quid collection free, and a trip to the sorting office.

Spammed, it's a counterfeit product which can't be submitted as a deal. :)

Also clicked on the spammed button, would hate for people to get stung on such a worthless piece of....

Thread reported.

I don't want people to think that these cards are comparable to genuine ones. :)

This item doesn't claim to be a sony memory card.... so is therefore not a counterfeit item? If I'm wrong, feel free to argue otherwise.

I won't argue, but dealextreme always send ones that are labelled up as Sony ones.
I will PM you how I know that these ones are "Photo-shopped". :)

It appears that HUKD are not convinced that these cards are illegal counterfeits.

The picture of the back of the packaging on the DX website states "Sony" in at least two places.

If you go to the deal and click on the image to enlarge it, you can see for yourself.
You will receive one with "Sony" emblazoned all over it, and although it says "MagicGate" on it, it will not be supported by MagicGate products.

Good Luck. :)

DealExtreme photoshop the pics on their site so that when customers figure out its a fake they can't turn round and say they expected to get a genuine Sony branded unit because thats what was shown on the website. Only Sony themselves and SanDisk are licensed to make the Pro Duo cards. Anyone else making them is not licensed to do so and are therefore creating counterfeits. These are neither SanDisk nor Sony manufactured cards. These fakes are branded as Sony, its just that DealExtreme have been sneaky enough to have removed the Sony trademark from their pics. See the picture of mine which clearly shows the Sony branding and yes this is a 100% fake Pro Duo card and is not a true MagicGate compatible unit.

From firsthand experience I can tell you these cards are sh#t and I would never trust them with valuable data.

I hadn't voted cold up until now, because I thought that it would be removed.

I have now voted cold, which may persuade some people not to purchase this product. :)
#17
Well if the mods refuse to remove it I then its up to the rest of us to warn against buying these, I too have been stung on Ebay with a fake, works, but data rates are erratic and the casing split on it in no time. Everything about them are cheap and no warranties, people you have been warned.

Thankfully voters are making it cold, but I for one would hope that the mods remove this. As stated ONLY Sandisk and Sony are licensed to sell Memory Stick Magicgate products. Whether fake labelled Sony or Sandisk or not these are still poor quality imitations.

Just read the reviews at the site, build quality isn't great, slow transfer speeds....I am sure those of you that have brains will walk straight past this deal, if not, well you have been warned.
