This style of shoe is called alpargatas and they originate in Argentina. The whole point of them is that they're cheap and comfy, and that rich and poor alike wear them all the time. These seem ok, not quite right, but around the right price. Toms however are a joke, and the inventors of the shoe think it's criminal how much they charge for a 5 peso pair of shoes. Yes the quality is better, but that completely misses the point. And the whole " every pair bought gives a pair of shoes to a poor argentine" malarkey... What a crock. Any how, heat from me and rang over.

Do you actually own a pair of Toms? I have had mine for 14months now. I live in them when I'm not working and they still look almost new. Well worth £40 - wouldn't be without them!
