They will arrange for our carrier to collect the item from you for the small charge of £3.50.

Think most online retailers have this option nowadays including ASOS etc. It's that or pop to the Post Office yourself and pay whatever the cost is there.

Most have free returns nowadays..

I don't use any retailer that charges you postage to return a product!

Great spot. These weren't available in my size, but tordered the Carbrooke boots instead, £59.99 down to £14.85 including delivery. Voted hot.

great one but not size 8 at this price :( anyways thanks for posting it

I'm probably wrong but I thought under the Distance Selling law thing, companies had to fully refund you ALL costs for return of unwanted goods. Unless they charge you £3.50 and then reimburse you afterward :/ hmmmm

I'm open to correction and clarification on this point.
#12
Same for me no size 8 - good buy otherwise
#13
Ordered the Carbrooke. Great reviews and only £14 all in - yet they're nearly double this on Ebay and £55 on Amazon. Seems like a bargain to me! :)
Thanks for the heads up.

Companies don`t have to pay postage just because the customer changes their mind.

They would have to pay if the goods were faulty or not as described (that includes the customer returning item substitutes).

EDIT - Hmm, I always read the law as I described it above, but I just noticed this bit...
When a consumer cancels a contract to which the cancellation provisions apply they are entitled to a refund of any money they have paid in relation to the contract even if the goods are not defective in any way.(sic)

No, under DSRs the buyer is responsible for the cost of returning items unless they are defective.

Looks like it is a mickey mouse site after all

Hawkshead is a perfectly legit company, name taken from Hawkshead in the Lake District home to one of their main retail outlets, parent company is the Craghoppers brand a very well known and respected retailer in the world of outdoor clothing, order with confidence.

don't think so, as said already they're part of the regatta group which includes craghoppers. If concerned, there is the option to pay by paypal.

If 8 is too small you're stuffed....go for 9 and wear thicker socks if need be!

Oak back in stock in all sizes. Size 8 and 9 in black do not appear to be in the sale

hanks, took a gamble by the sound of things but £12.15 delivered for a pair of walking boots is fine by me. Heat added

Mine have just been delivered (I ordered the Carbrooke for £14-odd) and I have to say, I'm really impressed. They're a little on the large size but are comfortable and seem durable enough for the odd wander.

Don't get me wrong, they're not in the same class as my Brasher boots and I wouldn't take them up Ben Nevis with me - but then there's an £80 difference in price to consider! :)
