I hope everyone realises Field & Trek is owned by Sports Direct, who also own the Karrimor brand name.

My point is they are CR*P quality, and just because they have Karrimor stamped on them does not mean they are any good.

Not waterproof as stated. Made the mistake of buying a pair of cheap Karrimors with 'waterproof lining' before. If you want a pair of boots that will be fit for purpose (i.e. hill walking, etc), you should look at a decent brand and/or get the likes of eVent waterproof material. If you just want to look like a hill walker, these might do.

Then make the point instead of irrelevant facts everyone is broadly aware of. Of course these are worth nowhere near RRP, they're a budget brand - but they're sold in lots of stores apart from just SD-owned stores, alongside other budget brands like regatta, trespass, etc.

It's interesting that the other post for Head boots is going red hot - another SD owned budget brand. The site is for hot deals, not brand snobs. For £18 they're perfectly suitable for basic general use.

Not everyone is aware that Karrimor are no longer a premium brand. You need to untwist you're kickers :p Not voted

I didn't know sports direct owned them, shouldn't really take offence at pointing it out.
But I agree for a budget they are a good deal and heated for that.

always on sale - a clear indication of how gullible consumers are when it comes to a 'deal'...

They are not sold as a basic boot though:

The Karrimor Mount Mid 2 is a lightweight walking boot designed for all weather with a suede and mesh upper providing waterproofing and breathability. These mens walking boots are ideal for the tough trails with a high padded ankle for lasting comfort and a moulded rubber outsole for incredible traction and durability.

Not fit for purpose....
