Yes, I know, these wont be the best quality but they'd be alright depending on what you're wearing them for... (I'm thinking going to the football/rugby and the like rather than maybe a wedding...). Although they are 100% wool so you never know I suppose!

Mens 5 yard for £24.99
Mens 8 yard for £39.99

They also have a boys kilt and various accessories and shirts too.

FROM 18th Jan (next Monday)

i would rather wear a kilt than dress like a Morris Dancer ..........:p

Good price for what it is. Bought mine for near 1000 quid and only worn it a few times! i wonder if they will be selling sporrans and sgean dhus in the future .......................

TIME FOR THE CORNY jOKE!

Q. "Whats worn under the kilt"
A. "Nothing, it's all in good working order."

These kilts are ok for one off's such as rugby etc as said, they are made from thin polyester..they also sell the accesories..or have in the past, got one from my son and it has survived several ceilidhs..not bad for a cheapie. And men in kilts are incredibly sexy!!

Lidl appear to be selling suits in their English stores and sadly not Morris Dancer outfits!!!

The mens 8 yard kilts are made from 13oz 100% pure new wool. Will last a lot longer and are much smarter

This is essentially an English design anyway so it should be sold South of the border. This 'dress' kilt should never be described as Scottish. It's about as Scottish as Haggis!!!

A kilt should only ever be worn in the 'mini kilt' style by a long legged hottie - (female)

This is from a Scot by the way

Excellent Deal!
#12
Anyone for a Lidl Kilt!? Or is that a Lidl breeze!??
banned#13
Cheaper from Topshop.
#14
German tartan - now that's a new one on me.

Got to be a good price for ocassional use though! My forecast is hot with light breezes.
#15
Generally these are made from a lighter weight fabric, a tradional kilt is made from 8 yards of 16oz wool, or a heavy weight is 18oz. The weight make it sit and hang nicely, and they fit perfect as traditional kilts are made to measure.
These cheaper made likts are great for stag nights, rugby, football etc, but not great for a formal occasion, as they dont look as nice.
#16
they dont do nice tartans either  i only wear my family tartan, or the stewart tartans, sine u cant rent my family tartan cos its rare, i wear royal stewart when i need a kilt, used to have a hhunting stewart kilt when i was a wee boy lol
#17
Ive got a kilt (with lots of extras), cant remember the weight of mine but weighs a small ton! Also cant remember what tartan it is now either although Abercrombie comes to mind.
Here it is:

Oooh very smart!! I have to ask, did you get all dressed up just to show us?? :p

Thanks for all the heat everyone :) I have to say, unfortunately I wont be needing to buy one myself as I married badly (he's English :p lol).
#19
yeah course...nah that photo was from a few years ago havent worn it in ages. Its actually really comfy to wear, the actual kilt. The rest is good for formal situations.

Looks a bit like `Flower of Scotland` tartan to me, or possibly `ancient Gunn`. :)
The Lidls ones are usually just Blackwatch, Modern Mackenzie, or Modern Douglas.

FOS has got one thin red/orange large sett through the tartan but is mainly blue, green with a thick black sett through too. I could be wrong, it just looks like it. (Much nicer than a lidl kilt anyway!!)
I found a sample on here http://www.lindaclifford.com/FOSSA.html
