So you pay £31k and after 3 years the car is worth £15k and you don't even not own it?! Cold.
No, you pay £31K and own it (or it could be yes as you've used a double negative)
The PCP is just a way of financing the car

No, you would pay more like 15-18k depending on what your pcp payments are and then at the end of the 3 year term you have the option to hand the car back or buy it for whatever the GFV (Guaranteed future value) was set at for example it could be 15-16k. You could also used the initial deposit to get a new car.

Take the finance and then cancel it after a few days: works for other forms of financing so maybe on a PCP too? I'm sure there'll be an 'expert' on HUKD who knows.
#17
Can you pay off a PCP straight away like with HP? If not, are you sure you 'own' the car before the balance is paid off?
#18
I wonder if Donald Trump looks for deals on here?... Some of us can only dream of spending 30k on car and the ones that can afford that much, I would imagine they weren't bothered about saving a few quid.

I think Cameron was joking, a play on the usual phrase of "you spend £x and at the end you don't even own it", he's implying that you lose a shed load of money and even have the misfortune of owning it at the end. Could be wrong

To be fair, BMW and Mercedes diesel engines are actually quite pokey, but yeah, adding AMG or M Sport spec to a sales rep 2.0l diesel engine is quite funny.

I know where you coming from lol, I'm a huge car fan and think AMG should be petrol only, but my car I've just sold 62reg E class Coupe had the AMG pack on and looked really well. Only bought it as I got a bargain and wanted to try it as I was looking for a c63 at the time.

Nope.
But I did see the report yesterday linking diesel fume with Alzheimer's. But I guess mpg is more important than the mass poisoning of the population done by these 'bad boys'

0-62 in 7.3 and it'll do 150. A few years ago that was sports car speed!

You're right on one point there, i'm not into classic sports cars. However the XR3i is not a "classic sports car" it was a hot-hatch owned by chavs and driven like a sports car by joy-riders ;)
