Currently £2.27 in Morrisons and on offer for £1.50 in Asda, Sainsbury's and Waitrose, Tesco now has the lowest price on these starting today at £1.

Absolutely lovely, you can eat them straight out of the bag or use them to make stuffing balls and nutroasts, or more adventurous dishes like a chestnut wellington if you've got vegan or vegetarian guests for Christmas dinner.

Valid from 23/11/2016 until 13/12/2016

ah, that 'essential item for Christmas dinner' The one that I have never had with Christmas dinner at any location in over 40 years.

How do these compare to buying chestnuts and doing it that way, as my mother has always done that and it tastes amazing, but obviously a lot more time consuming.

For the last few years I've bought bags of these at Tesco's for a pound each around Christmas for snacking cold. Not tried them hot but maybe I will this time using microwave on a quick burst, roasting in oven might dry them out.

These never taste the same to me as roasted chestnuts but I might try your idea of roasting them. Thanks.

Can you freeze these and what aisle are they on in Tesco? I was going to chop them and fry them with part cooked sprouts and smoked bacon bits for Christmas dinner.
