awesome price! Doesnt taste very nice but perfect for protein shakes.
I guess you're used to eating contaminated peanut butter full of palm oil, vegetable oil and salt. I would hazard a guess that 75% of people would prefer the flavour to any other. It's certainly the nearest I've found to making your own from just a big pile of peanuts.

I've been eating peanut butter since 1976 (precise I know but that's when my Auntie gave me some to try, which I thought was made by Gale's but can't find any reference to it anywhere) and Meridian is bottom of the pile along with Sun Pat (they taste very different to each other, but both equally nasty). I'd much rather have Pip&Nut or Whole Earth. Meridian is almost devoid of taste as a peanut butter, very bland, I used to get 1KG tubs of it occasionally now there's much better tasting peanut butters around I haven't bought some in 10 years or so.

That's not terribly fair mate. Here are the ingredients from meridian:

Roasted Peanuts Whole Skin On (100%)

And here are the Sun Pat ingredients:

Peanuts 94%,
Stabiliser: E471,
Cane Sugar,
Peanut Oil 1%,
Sea Salt.

Similarly Whole Earth has palm oil in it, as well as what is unnervingly described as "Approved Non Organic Ingredients".

To my mind I can't see any counter argument to the notion that meridian is good stuff, on the grounds that it's peanut butter made out of peanuts.

And thanks, OP, I'll take a look :)

Haha, I'm guessing they classify it as Health as in Health & Beauty. One side is dental the other side is full of (overpriced) sports supplements where this PB can be found.

this been seen at any other tescos?

I'm a crunchy fan unforch, never tried it in a shake so might grab one next shop tho

Should just mention that this is a massive Tesco Extra store so prob only worth checking others if its the sort that would stock protein powders, bars etc. Could always phone ahead.

Good stuff, I usually get it from Amazon. It does settle with a lot of oil on top and needs a good mix in to return it to 'butter'.

Nope guess again. I don't like any type of peanut butter lol. I only have this in my protein shake because of the health benefits.

Iceland had peanut butter that was the tastiest we ever had:

Pip&Nut is the closest we've ever tried in the UK so far.

As above even "better" brands such as whole earth are using palm oil... no thank you

The stuff from cotsco , their own lake land brand is pretty damn good and normally costs around 8 quid for 2 900g or so tubs.

I've tried the stuff from my protein and the protein works too. Both OK but from what I recall the myprotein one was strangely runny, despite being 100% peanuts.

The one major downside to the Costco one is that it seems to settle far faster than the others I've tried and yer always left with a small amount of peanut concrete at the bottom of the jar lol

Has anyone tasted the Meridian Hazelnut butter? OMG! It's Heaven. Tastes like Ferrero Roche imo! Expensive but can't find any cheaper alternative at the moment that hasn't got all the palm oil etc added to it.

Have rung all 3 big stores in & around Plymouth & they all said that it's not a product they sell (they checked their stock on computer).

It tastes nice, really good and worth the money!

Bargain, shame we don't have a big tesco store here. I buy this from H&B for much more. Tastes amazing, give it a good stir and you're good to go. And it's just nuts, nothing else so you know exactly what you're getting..
#32
Has it been found at any other store?
