That old one was originally posted as a non clubcard deal hence £110 hence why it's got a big minus heat rating.

I went to London last weekend. I'd already applied for the card x 2. If you go to Madame Tussads with your voucher, they take your photo and issue your card there so you don't have to send it off with a photo etc,,,, prior to visiting. I think Alton Towers also take your photo. So, during a weekend in London we went to Madame Tussads, free entry on the London Eye (skipping the main queuing system), and the Dungeons. It is unlimited too, so had we thought about it we could have gone on the London Eye again!!

I'd say it's well worth the money - We are now planning on doing Alton Towers and Warwick Castle. Even though you can always seem to get 2 4 1 vouchers for these places flying about, this is still worth the money.
#14
Shame there's not a bit more in the North West....cracking deal if you live in the south though for sure.
#15
Are these attractions free for children under 1 metre tall. So our family of 4 only need 3 annual passes ?
#16
Damn shame they dont have part payment as i dont have £110 in vouchers for a family of 4 :?
#17
Cold - This deal has been around a while, and it takes a while to get all the vouchers.
#18
Whats new is that since Tussuads was taken over by the Merlin group (who now have a virtual monopoly on theme parks etc) it now includes Legoland, Dungeons, and Sea Life Centres.

You can find out how to ramp up your points at these sites...

Yes, for a year or so the cards were for up to 52 visits only, now you can go as many times as you like. And not having to pay at Alton Towers car park is cool, havnt checked but they also used to get you a hefty whack off food prices etc at these places as well (tho only at own brand places, not BK or KFC etc)
#22
Damn, got excited - then realised you would have to have devoted your life to shopping at Tesco for 3 passes, and not have used the codes given for your loyalty. Crazy - who has this kind of devotion to one shop - no wonder Tesco is taking over the world.
#23
Just to add to that it also saves you 20% off Food and the shops at Alton Towers too.
Not off photography anymore though
Shame really !!

Not only that but I would have to be prepared to spend most of my time standing in queues at some of these places, because as soon as the sun comes out in school holidays they crowd up to a level they can't cope with. Even getting to the car park was a mare last time I went to Lego (45 mins in Windsor jams). Then we had to stand for half an hour to get through the front gate, then the ride queues which were worse still. This was half term, probably OK during school days but I wouldn't want to go without the kids anyway. They just don't have the organisation that the US parks do and nor do they see to care as long as they get the cash. Although I understand that Alton Towers are trying a bit harder these days.

The £54 you got in vouchers is worth 4x as much if you spend it on clubcard deals. Making it worth £216 (as you said.)

However, the £27.50 mentioned is the clubcard voucher value, not the 4x. So for a family of 4 it would cost £110 clubcard vouchers (making it £440 4x value)

No problem, glad it made sense.

This is a good deal ONLY if you are planning to go to one of the theme parks / attractions 4 or more times this season (between now and October). Otherwise, just buy the individual entry offers for £8.50 in tokens each.

You get 1 point per £1 spent. However there are often promotions on where if you buy something you get 100 points or something. Also there are online vouchers around usually which get you extra points, and tesco direct often have triple points offers on.

You can also get points for sending empty ink cartridges and old mobile phones in to tesco

Tesco send you the vouchers quarterly. They have a code on, and you enter this code online to use the voucher. If you use it at tesco you get the face value of the voucher, but if you spend them on one of the clubcard deals you get 4x the face value.

this is called fraud

I got 4 of these by shopping savvy on Ebay for unregistered clubcards with points on them. There are load of people selling them but it is a bit of a gamble.

I ended up paying £170 for the equivilent of £110 in clubcard vouchers which I used to buy 4 x annual merlin passes.

It was a fair amount of hassle tbh but I ended up saving £270!!. The problem with these is that my 3yr old is just over 1Mtr which means I needed four tickets!! I think the Merlin family deal works out at £330 so if you need a family ticket I would think before using your Tesco vouchers on this. (Unless you are prepared to do what I did, and spend a few hours faffing about on Ebay!!)

Still, there are savings to be had if you are dedicated.

Also, i have a tesco clubcard creditcard.. I use it to pay for just about everything (shopping, petrol, bills etc) and pay off the balance each month.. Cant remember the exact details off the top of my head but think its 4 points for every £1 spent in Tesco and 1 point for every £4 spent elsewhere.. I usually receive around £30 (£120 worth of deals) every quarter from the credit card alone but obviously you could get less or more depending on your monthly spend...

i buy them of ebay the tesco voucher and then get them to convert and send me the voucher.

The deal used to be around £23.00 (last year) though. Obviously they increase price every year.

The merlin annual passes are valid for 12 months from date of issue - it doesn't matter when in the season you obtain them - they do not expire at the end of October unless you have your pass issued at the end of October the previous year (ie. 12 months from issue).
