Saw this in the litle Christmas Gift Guide that came with my Clubcard mailing. Not bad for a fiver if you've got kids who liked the original Madagascar films and want something festive/different!

Exclusive to Tesco, DreamWorks MERRY MADAGASCAR. Join Alex the lion and his Central Park friends, Marty, Melman and Gloria as they try and save Christmas after Santa crash lands on the island of Madagascar. All your favourite friends are here and some new ones as well.

Also various Christmas Madagascar cuddly toys from £3-£8 shown in the magazine.

All these products available from23rd November, so a bit early posting, but I thought it worth mentioning in plenty of time as it might help out someone looking for inspiration for a cheap pressie.

Will try and get a pic below if I can find something.

Can't find it anywhere yet on the Tesco site, but Google images came up with the following which shows the same picture as that in my magazine. Except mine doesn't have the watermark across it.

Sounds good to me! How good will it actually be though if it's exclusive to Tesco :?

Is this a sign of things to come?

It's only 30 mins, it's on TV in America in 2 weeks, then the DVD comes out next day exclusive to Walmart!

Wouldn't surprise me if its on TV here soon, Sky + it!

Whereabouts are the Madagascar toys in the gift guide? I've been looking but can't see them.
My 2 year old loves King Julien!! His favourite saying is "look at me, I'm a lady!!"

There was a photo of 4 of the animals dressed in Santa suits, immediately below the photo of the DVD, and it said small £3, large £8.

It wasn't the full size gift guide catalogue that you pick up in the shop - it was a small booklet with very little in it, that I got in the post along with my Clubcard stuff.

Excusing my ignorance...which one's King Julien? There was a penguin in the photo, the zebra, the hippo and the lion I think. (I won't embarass myself by naming them wrongly!)

Just yesterday i was lucky to see making, and few scenes of the movie Merry Madagascar.. it is really very very good and the best part for me is that the 80% of the movie was done Dreamworks Dedicated Unit in bangalore. me, being an animation student in B'lore itself made this "WATCH" so exciting..

Tesco have signed up to an exclusive contract with Dreamworks. So they will be doing loads of exclusive Dreamworks stuff in the coming months. I agree this has got to be worth a fiver as a stocking filler! :santa:

I downloaded the US TV showing on 18th Nov and without the adverts it's only 21 mins! [unless of course it was cut for TV.....]

Quite amusing  Not sure I'd want to pay a fiver for it on DVD though
#25
Thanks for the reminder, just ordered
#26
I bought mine today in Tesco's :) they also had all the toys - alas, no King Juliens - but did have all four main characters and the Penguin!

I would say it is more like 20 mins or so. The penguins were on first at the cinema for about 3 or 4 mins-then credits rolled and i thought that couldn't be it....be then it actually came on and was def no more than 20 mins-fab though!!

Ordered one, thanks OP :)

Went to see this at the local cinema a couple of weeks ago - free tickets from Tesco for a special screening which the cinema knew nothing about, lots of very angry parents and wailing kiddies until the cinema sorted it out. I'd say it's worth a fiver as a stocking filler.
#32
has anyone managed to buy a melman (giraffe), we have tried a couple of tesco stores in the north east with no luck!
#33
Have just purchashed this DVD from my local Tesco, the box states the length is 27 mins,
in fact it is only 20 mins with SEVEN minutes of credits. Not value for money.:x
