  brilliant game but would definitely not buy the platinum range(looks crap) even in the poundshop which is probably where it ll be turning up in the foreseeable future

  When people advertise second hand games as non-platinum because they think it makes them better I find it funny because it just means it is older and therefore more likely to be scratched.

  Platinum games are re-released at a cheaper price to entice those who have missed out the first time around into buying them. It's basically a money-spinning technique used to draw more gamers in and also to illustrate the more successful games. It's a win-win situation as far as the industry is concerned, the gamer gets a decent (assuming the game is decent to sell more than 1 million copies, though this isn't always the case!) game for a cheaper price and the developers/publishers get even more money for a game that's already made its money.

  Fantastic game, second highest rated exclusive title of 2008 with 94% (just behind LittleBigPlanet on 95%)
  
  If you dont fancy the cut scenes you can skip them - however you can get so engrossed in the fantastic storyline that you forget you are even watching them - and just get stuck into the amazing gameplay which is visually stunning.

  I paid £10.60 for it, and I think PLATINUM looks crap, thats why I don't like it. Just my opinion though. However Im glad it's out on platinum because it lowers what ALL editions are worth. But id never buy a platinum

  I saw the platinum edition for £20, roughly a month back but I couldn't bring myself to buying the platinum version, so i spent an extra Tenner to get the original release (there is no difference except the sleeve and cover). LOL
  
  Fantastic price, recommend everyone to play this game and the others in the series :) (preferably in order LOL, starting with snake eater? or mg :|)
