MGS PORTABLE Ops
Metal Gear Solid: Portable Ops redefines the stealth action genre for handheld gaming systems with an original storyline that follows from the events of Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater and boasts ground-breaking online play that lets gamers recruit comrades to form a unique fighting force.

The single-player campaign of Metal Gear Solid: Portable Ops follows the events of Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater, as Big Boss establishes FOXHOUND in an attempt to hunt down the treacherous FOX unit, which has started a bloody revolt in South America. Set in 1970, the game will be the missing link in the ongoing Metal Gear saga, as players will learn more about returning characters such as Para-Medic, Major Zero and Sigint and also witness Big Boss's greatest tragedy - a loss that sets into motion the events of later games in the Metal Gear Solid timeline.

* Refining the gameplay of the online multiplayer mode from Metal Gear Solid 3: Subsistence, Metal Gear Solid: Portable Ops lets players engage in online skirmishes through the PSP system's wireless infrastructure functionality.
* Players will be able to use their squadron from the single-player portion of the game as well as recruiting new members and trading with other players, unleashing their distinctive abilities and wreaking havoc across the game's numerous multiplayer levels.
* Metal Gear Solid: Portable Ops also introduces a new "White Flag" system to the game's multiplayer modes, letting players choose to surrender and live to fight again in each round or fight to the death until the next game begins. Placing emphasis on stealth gameplay, the White Flag System further evolves online play for the Metal Gear series and creates a bond between the player and their team as they work together to achieve their objectives.

SILENT HILL
If you've ever wondered just how the town of Silent Hill became the eerie mess that has been seen over four previous Silent Hill games, then this new PSP title will reveal all, set as a prequel to the events that have been before.

This dedicated PSP title copes beautifully with creating the creepy feel of Silent Hill and will keep players engrossed from start to finish with the well crafted storyline, the range of enemies and puzzles to solve as well as the haunting soundtrack composed by the legendary composer Akira Yamaoka, responsible for the musical score on all of the other titles. The game follows Travis Grady, a truck driver who has become stranded in Silent Hill. Naturally, he has a few of his own demons to contend with and throughout the course of the game, both his and the town's secrets come to the fore.

The gameplay is still classic Silent Hill - but with tweaks and additions created specifically for the PSP. Players can now lock onto enemies to attack and will also find the control scheme changing intuitively for each situation. Players also utilise an enhanced camera designed with the PSP in mind, as well as an updated control method for more detailed exploration of the environment. There are now 'Cineractive' element where players have to hit buttons as prompted to escape enemies that have triggered the cinematic sequences.

The further into the game players get, more weapons become available plus more and more items from the surroundings can be used - however overuse of items causes them to break and wear down, which could leave players unarmed at crucial moments.

* First dedicated PSP Silent Hill Story
* New 'Cineractive' control system
* Prequel tells how Silent Hill was created
* Original soundtrack by series composer Akira Yamaoka
* Look and feel retains all the classic Silent Hill elements

I've been told they're in a 'slip' case.

Ordered. Been putting off getting MGS Portable Ops because I'm not a huge MGS fan, but I've been told it's a classic... At this price, for two good games, I can't put it off any longer :)

From wonderwallweb.com

"KONAMI REVEAL PSP DOUBLE PACK
Konami to release PSP double pack.

Konami has announced a collection of double-packs for PSP featuring pairings of its biggest titles for the format.

Available from March 27th, the new compilations retain their original packaging, but are twinned in a special slip case for just £19.99. The first two pairings will be Metal Gear Solid Portable Ops with Silent Hill Origins"

Seems you get two psp boxes that likely will have a cardboard/plastic sleeve on the outer.

Should be great, and excellent value for money

do you even know what a slipcase is?

its just a outer case for regular items inside. i.e. if you bought a movie triple, it would be three retail discs with a wraparound, which is a slipcase, so these are regular releases with just a slipcase which you could throw away.

fanstastic price, Play have some other doubles and triples too.

£11.99 for Kids Double - Surfs Up and Open Season.
£14.99 for Action Triple - POP Revelations, Rainbow Six Vegas, Driver 76.

seems like a great deal all of them.

Have they been released yet? No, so how do you know?? 'Slipcase' can mean many things.

Doubt very much they will be two retail boxes stuck together. They will have at least removed the individual barcodes etc to stop them being sold separately.

We shall wait and see...

The 'slipcase' will likely be a 'sleeve' that the two boxes slot into.
Check out post No 9.

Yes, no one knows for sure yet.

We'll see what it's all about when it's in the hands of the great unwashed!
