Metallica S & M CD only £4.99 at Amazon

Came across this classic Metallica CD on Amazon this afternoon for a mere £4.99 and I couldn't resist at this price. More than double the price at most online music stores and you'd be lucky to get a used one off the bay for this price

For those of you who are not familiar with this record, it was a very special project between Metallica and legendary composer Michael Kamen.

If you've never heard the CD or seen the show on VHS or DVD, googel Metallica S&M on Youtube.

39 copies avilable as of 16:47 hrs 5th March.

No. Not even the best album by this artist. Excellent album by a fantastic band! RIP Michael Kamen.

Really? Try listening to Call of Ktulu and tell me that it hasn't improved upon the original Ride The Lightning version. The songs were all selected by Kamen as a "best fit" for Metallica. I think there are many more songs/tunes that could have been reworked to become better ones - Sanitarium; Orion; Fade To Black (arguably the best ever Metallica song and OOOH, how I would love for this song to have been reworked) to name but a few.

Listen to Death Magnetic and tell me about how there's a lack of Kamen's influence on the band.

SOME bands have tried this approach and it hasn't worked. Hmmm...Rush for one - crap band and added orchestral flourishes meant adding sugar to a pile of dog mess - a worthless pile of sugary shight.

This DID work for Metallica - think of the black album and a certain song that has became one of the most famous for the band.

It's easy to ignore classical music's influence on Heavy Metal bands. Consider Mozart as the Bon Jovi of the day and then consider Beethoven as Metallica. The two genres of music compliment each other in ways you can never understand. Appreciate both in their own right and then merge the two - beautiful! Especially with a Kamenic score.

Done!

Waiting for Slayer to come up with something like this. Any good deal on Deicide or Six Feet Under live videos?

South Of Heaven would sound amazing, wouldn't it?

Stupendous album at a great price.

by far and away the best live album you, or anyone else, will ever buy....

there's something in every song that elevates the originals, and that's no mean feat given the quality of the songs to start with...

EPIC!

Judging by your picture of Brian from Family Guy and your comment, i'm going to say that you're mentally retarded.
