Metro 2033 (PC) - £4.99 @ Gamers Gate (Today Only)

Steam has this on sale for 50% off today (making it £10), but GamersGate have gone one better with 75% off! AND - this version registers/activates with Steam, which is great.

No codes required, just make sure you get it before it expires tonight. Digital Download I believe.

My first deal, hope I've done this right!

Does anyone know if this will add itself to steam? I have my doubts as it looks like a GFWL only game...
Voted hot btw :P

If it's on this list, yes.
If not, no.

Looks like you might be in luck:

Yes - you can register it on Steam.

Finished this on the 360 recently, it's a very underrated game in my opinion and well worth a fiver.

Can I buy this and then give the key to a buddy as a gift to download the game from steam?

Cheers, grabbed it :)

Edit

Bought it through the site, was given the key straight away. Activated it through Games>activate a product on steam and it worked instantly.

Yep, that'll work just fine,

Finished this on PC. Very good challenging game. Installs itself to Steam and launches no problem.

Make sure you've a beasty PC if you're looking to max Metro, it's more of a system killer than Crysis was.

I hear this game is quite glitchy and has a few issues, IGN gave it only 6.9/10. Anyone can confirm it's better than this?
#12
Hot. wanted this today anyway.
Edit; Actually $4.99 so even cheaper, however website is dirt slow!

This game is a real masterpiece.
It dares to be a linear, level based shooter in a world of open worlds.
It's one of the most atmospheric, well written games you will ever play.

Also, the recently announced Metro : Last Light should be amazing too.

Gamespot gave it 8.0. It's a very good game.
I have just finished it and had one very minor
glitch. Get it bought.

Bought it, cheers OP! The Gamers Gate download was slow as hell (25kbps) when I started it (although this may be due to the fact I'm at Uni and some ports are blocked) but then I remembered that it can be Steam activated........ so downloading now at 1MB/sec :D

The default DRM on the retail copies was to authenticate through Steam - mine arrived a day early but refused to install until Steam said it was officially launched in my region
#17
Thanks, I was thinking of getting of steam. You save me £5 :)

Everyone, if you don't like the speeds of Gamers Gate (I didn't), just buy it, then click "show serial". Go to steam and click "add a game > activate product on steam" and put the serial in there. It will immediately unlock and you can download it through steam which maxes my connection out!

Maybe I should add this to the description.

I think it's excellent so far. Only on the 2nd chapter but it runs amazingly on my iMac 27" Quad Core (Windows Boot Camp).

go to your add-ons, click options below foxyproxy, and type in the ip, and the port number.
