Better than nothing but it's just wallpapering over the cracks. They'd be better off investing in a network that doesn't treat commuters like sardines and break down every other week...
Genius ! Thanks :D
Wow, I didn't know about this! Thank you!

they were on Market Street stop today.
Hot, but would prefer they put more effort into running the service properly. It really has been a mess this last year!
I'm not in Manchester till next week, but still a good find :D

Probably not but in the past 6 months we've had our ticket checked i'd say about 15 times by different inspectors and not one have questioned it.

It is a good deal if making a few journeys over a weekend (it doesn't get extended for bank holidays).
It is likely to increase in cost from September, after the current prize freeze ends.

You are best buying a Family Travel Card for £6.20.It allows unlimited travel on all Metrolink tram services for groups of up to two adults and three children. This is very good value for money for families
Valid after 0930 Mondays to Fridays and all day Saturdays, Sundays and Bank Holidays. http://www.metrolink.co.uk/tickets/Pages/Travelcards.aspx
Should be noted that "For Family Travelcards, at least one adult and one child must be travelling together."
Me and my girlfirend always use a 'family' travel card...you dont have to have a child with you...Even asked the ticket inspectors and they said the same.

Unfortunately, you do need to have a child with you. If they said that you don't, then they were wrong.

I always thought that the family day ticket cards were brilliant value, compared to the prices on other public transport. Never realised that this deal was available. Thank you for posting !:)
I've been on the tram a lot and as long as you've got a valid ticket to travel you're fine! 2 Adults can travel together on a family ticket!

The don't really care! imho. if asked bh anyone just tell them your 'child' will be joining you for a later journey etc :-)

Are you sure that would work?

Or, just borrow someone elses child when the ticket inspector is around. :)

umar1980, That's what I thought but the terms state:

"Terms and conditions:
.....
For Family Travelcards, at least one adult and one child must be travelling together."

I know but it had been £5 for at least 6 years and it is still very very cheap!

Not really a deal though, is it, just a standard fare. All tram networks sell rover tickets so I don't see what's so special about this one. Cold.
