Writer and director Michael Mann updates the groundbreaking television crime series he created in the 1980s with this stylish thriller. Ricardo Tubbs (Jamie Foxx) and Sonny Crockett (Colin Farrell) are two police detectives working undercover in Florida; Tubbs is smart, cool, and resourceful, while Crockett has his own way of doing things, though he stays close enough to the rules to stay out of trouble. Their latest assignment is to get the goods on Arcangel de Jesus Montoya (Luis Tosar), a local drug kingpin whose men are believed to be responsible for a handful of recent murders. In order to infiltrate Montoya's operation, Tubbs and Crockett pose as powerboat racers willing to use their talents to pilot drug-smuggling ships for the right price. The detectives' ruse works, but as they dig deeper into Montoya's inner circle, they become involved in a dangerous operation that will take them to Haiti and Cuba, where neither the Miami Police Force nor the United States government can help them if things go wrong. Crockett also begins walking a risky path when he begins an affair with Isabella (Gong Li), a woman high up in Montoya's organization. Miami Vice marked Michael Mann's third consecutive directorial effort with Jamie Foxx after Ali and Collateral. ~ Mark Deming, All Movie Guide

What a crap film this was, is it worth £2 lol
yep it was total crap, someone might like it
Bought this from Tesco instore for £2 last year.... still not watched and can't be bothered to really.
I saw this in the cinema... and it's one of the worst films i've ever seen - and i've seen some rubbish. I'd avoid it if it was free.
ditto to all the above comments, saw this on a flight to dubai 3 yrs ago, total crap, ruined the memory of the old 80's series with don johnson and co.
Keep it one of the wordt films I have seen!

I thought it was an excellent film and well worth watching.

I thought it was an excellent film and well worth watching.

It has an excellent soundtrack and some great sequences, but it's a little bit uneven.

It's by no means 'the worst film ever' though.

Maybe there's a Danny Dire movie cheap somewhere for those people:thumbsup:
I like colin farrel but the black guy is just so annoying.

£2 is a steal.
:w00t: seen it twice.. pointless film
Terrible film although some nice sequences here and there, dancing, speedboats, stuff you'd expect from Miami Vice. No proper story though and you should get a medal if watch all the way through.

Soundtrack album rather good however, six quid delivered at Play
Personally this is one of my favourite films, but each to their own I guess. I don't understand the hate towards it.
It wasn't the worst film I saw but it wasn't exactly brilliant either. Especially seeing as Michael Mann (responsible for the original series) was behind this. I know he wanted to update it, but he forgot all about characteriastion. There was hardly any proper dialogue between this Crockett and Tubbs.
Absolute dire...... wouldn't watch it again if someone gave me drinks and popcorn!

Michael Mann's worst by a mile.
This film was completely slated at the cinema. I actually quite liked it though, it's not just another shot-em-up film.
Dreadful film, Farrell looks like a dirty, hairy hillbilly, so a totally unbelievable character. I regretted the wasted time I spent in front of this dvd.
