Great cd, Before the fame got to him...

Before he got a 'bit too weird' for ya?! Well I'm glad he 'danced to the beat of his own drum', its what made him so unique / untouchable.

C'mon The dude sold out the O2 FIFTY times! Who else could do that? Prince came close with 21 but there sure as hell isn't anyone out there today who could.

The 800,000 tickets for "This Is It" sold faster than they did for his "Bad" world tour (at the 'height of his fame in 1987/1988'). I remember the News of the World claiming he would struggle to fill the originally planned 10 nights! Dude still had it, even at 50. People used to write him off ALL the time, he just shrugged his shoulders & got on with what he does best. He went through some crap in his lifetime, I would have cracked early.

IMHO, some of his best work was made during the 90's. (Stranger in Moscow, Earth Song, Remember the Time, Black or White, You Are Not Alone, They Don't Care About Us, Will You Be There, Scream to name a few).

Fame never 'got to him', he continued to create masterpieces long after Thriller. Sure Thriller is a great album, but I am tired of people acting like everything he did after 1983 was crap! Michael Jackson was one of the few artists who genuinely deserved all the praise & critical acclaim he received. I'm 27 & I became a fan in 1993 when "Black or White" was released. He put his all into everything he did musically, he continually raised & smashed the bar in terms of innovation & creativity. He had a relentless desire to always better himself. He was exceptionally intelligent & a talent which cannot ever conceivably be matched.

MJ said in 2008: "“Let’s face it. Who wants mortality, everybody wants immortality. You want what you create to live, be it sculpting, painting, music composition. Michaelangelo said, ‘I know the creator will go, but his work survives’. That is why to escape death I attempt to bind my soul to my work. I give my all to my work because I want it to just live and just give all that I have.”

He has affected the music world in ways that will be remembered long after he is gone. Rest in peace MJ.

You forgot the bits about destroying his body through ridiculous surgery and drugs, and the court cases.

Thriller was his pinnacle and glory. Bad, was good ... then it all went downhill into a quite catastrophic (and entertaining) train crash.

Amazing artist and a amazing deal!!

Michael Jackson was 1 of a kind. Anyone to say he was a bad person or wierd well you know nothing about him then!!
Go and read Michael Jackson's life story instead of hearing storys about him and using them against him...
The 2 main things people always mention is the child abuse case and MJ showing off the babie on the balcony.

Michael Jackson was find not gulity and cleared on all counts of child abuse in 2005!!
The reason why MJ paid that boys mother in 1993 was because he didn't want much problems in his life. Any normal mother would of not accepted the money if she actually cared about her son and she would of fighted to win the case but she rather accepted the money and that was that. I know if my child got abused then I wouldn't accept any money from the person who apparently done it, If it was me I would fight till I win the case, see that person suffer and locked up!
So taking that in board he was targeted for his money.

It was An error in judgement. He was showing his fans his baby! It wasn't like he was going to throw his baby over the balcony or anything ridiculous like that. He had a firm grip on him and maybe he overreacted a little bit, but what's so bad about what he did, atleast he had a hold of his baby. I mean, there's countless other things that people do with their children that are FAR more dangerous than what Michael did, for instance, throwing their baby up in the air and catching them, driving a lawnmower with their baby on their lap, driving a car with their baby on their lap, going to a restaurant and drinking beer after beer and then driving home with their baby in the car, I mean, i'd personally rather see someone holding a baby over a balcony with a firm grip than those other things. come on, Britney lost her child, you people aren't making a fuss out of it!!!

There are far more worse famous people out there who take drugs and have a lot of surgey but no one says nothing about them!.!

MJ - Respect 1 LOVE''

Peace

Voted HOT btw
