Course you do but it's nice to have extras. I need one at work, one on the back of my computer (connected to the dock) and one for my laptop. For a couple of quid you can't go wrong.
#11
Does anybody know if this will fit the Tmobile Pulse - thanks

I'm sure someone will post these as available in your local pound shop though.

I checked poundland first, unfortunately not. did pick up one of those hdmi cables though :)
#13
If these are the same type of connector as the HTC Hero has then they just have a slightly modified mini-usb socket. I use a mini-usb cable from my PS3 to charge and transfer from my HTC Hero regularly, I believe you can pick these up even cheaper on eBay. Nevertheless a good deal.
#14
Should also fit Palm Pre.

I think you can get these off ebay for around a pound though just for the cable + delivery.
#15
I picked up a couple from an amazon seller for 1.95 and they seem pretty good. Have a nice clip to hold the cable together built in too:

I've got a Hero, Desire and BB 8900 in front of me.

Desire and BB both use micro usb, their chargers are interchangable
Hero uses a modified mini usb , the charger is interchangable with the Desire, but the lead is not.

Although the supplied USB is a modified version of mini USB, you'll find that any mini USB cable will work with the HTC Hero

Can anyone tell me if this is the same connector that will fit in the Griffin itrip for the iphone 3gs so you can charge it at the same time? A mini usb won't fit in, it's like a squashed type one!?
#22
Will this do data and charge?. Not all of these cables seem to do both!

That's true. I bought fout £2 USB cables before my desire arrived (for carcharging, bedside table charging etc) and while they all work for charging, only the one in the box worked for data transfer.

Don't know if that applies to these 7dayshop ones though.

Personally, I always go to Amazon first, as 7dayshop is like play - deliveries take four or five days to come in from the Channel Islands...
#24
A note worth mentioning about the adapters. Most of the mini usb to micro usb adapters are for charging only and not data, so bare that in mind before purchasing off ebay. I have bought 3 for under £4.50 delivered from fleabay' . Handy when you have tonnes of old chargers floating about.

£1.99 for the cable is good value. Gonna get a couple for myself. Cheers OP.

Is this a sync cable or a charging cable?

can confirm that these can charge and sync the htc desire!

The hero does use a modified mini USB, but you can actually plug a mini usb cable in despite the seeming differences in shape incurring no damage.

had no idea this worked, just tried it on my touch HD and had no problems, thanks a lot for this tidbit!

Is this the same cable used to charge up a PS3 controller?

No, PS3 has Mini-USB connectors on their controllers. This one is Micro-USB - even smaller.

Yep you are correct, apologies read micro as mini!

I know this will fit my desire. But apparently some cables don't Carey the full power they can to the handset. Does anyone know if this is a real 'quick charge' cable? And/or how to tell if a cable will be the full power (1amp?). Thanks.
#34
Thanks, ordered one for my Nokia 5230.

Just a heads up - this cable isn't charging my HTC Desire when plugged in to my PC

Will test when plugged in to mains charger later on.

EDIT: This post refers to the Amazon one linked a few pages back, not the main one in the OP.

Did anyone verify if the 7dayshop cable can do data and power?

I got the Nokia cable to use at work for my Desire, and came back to this topic because although it does charge, it doesn't seem as quick as the HTC cable. Now I know I'm not imagining it.

I'd imagine that's because the original supplied Desire charger is a 1 amp plug, but you are using the Nokia cable from a PC which provides only 500ma?
