Oh, all on line reviews say they give great sound for the money, I guess they must all be mistaken...

I've got these speakers and they were the fourth set I tried before deciding to keep them because the other three, the Creative T40s, the Logitech Z506 and the Microlab Solo 6C were not to my liking soundwise.

The FC360s then have a very acceptable sound. I found the Creative T40s could not compete without a separate subwoofer, the Logitech's gave a slightly tinny sound, and the Solo 6C were too unwieldy (they are very big) and only reproduced certain songs well like ballads. Therefore I think these are the best of those as the sound is balanced. More expensive sets will get you a better sound no doubt, there is a slight hum from the speakers when they are in operation, and the amp gives feedback noise when first switching on. However, these are good for the price. I paid £45 a couple of months ago.

have a set of 5.1 speakers in the sane range and they are excellent for below 150 price range.

I've just ordered these after spending the last 2 months searching for a nice 2.1 set.

This is the lowest price they have been from Amazon.

I'd also considered a few of the one's Dearley1231 in post #3 mentioned and had about 4 different types on my Camel price watch, it came down to the Wavemaster stix, the older silver ones, or these, & based on the Vortez review HERE, i went for these.

I'll be using them for music (i like nice bassy not tinny sounds) & gaming (i like to hear what characters are saying & simple effects like footsteps), mostly.
