These are cheap because Micromark have gone bust. Just bear this in mind for warranty claims or spare part support.

There are currently bargains to be had all over the internet for Micromark electrical products, from CCTV to radiators, especially on the well-known auction site.

I was surprised when I discovered the fate of Micromark; I had always considered their product range to be of reasonable quality.

So do the burgulars. Easier to bypass and disable. :)
#7
not to your average person you need a wireless jammer. where as with these you can just cut the wire?
#8
Bought one, just hope the cables are long enough.
#9
Wouldn't burglars attack when you least expect them (i.e. when you're in bed and not watching your black and white porch live stream, or when your car isn't in your driveway)? And I hardly thinking watching your porch for hours on end, waiting for someone who might look like a burglar to popup on screen is riveting prime time un-missable evening watching...

Having said that, I may buy one anyway.

How are the cameras themselves powered? Am I right in thinking each camera has a power cable going to the mains, and another cable going to the controller?
#12
Cold, this isnt HD and doesn't dispense chocolate.

(Kidding, great price, voted hot.)

Nope, the single cable from controller to camera powers the camera and also relays pictures back to the controller. It's a great deal, shame that there isn't an option to automatically record when the PIR is activated.

Do asda fit it for you?
Should do at that price.

Yes fine for outside use and only if you wanted to record the images.
Old video rec. with a scart socket would do fine.

Wireless ones can be a pain if you or a near neighbour are using a wireless router. I'm getting fed up having to climb up the ladder to change the channel on mine to stop the picture breaking up whenever one of the neighbours decides to switch channels on their router.
