Any advantage in spending a little more on a SDHC, when used in conjunction with DS Carts

No point for that size card, the adaptors usually only need SDHC cards on bigger cards. I'm using a standard 2gb micro SD for my R4

SDHC just means that you have a bigger capacity card.
2GB is fine for most people, it depends what you want on it, but it's cheaper per GB to get a SDHC card.

Are these un-branded cards reliable?

2GB Sandisk ones are £4.69 here:

Have found 7dayshop reliable so far & the cheap micro sds are stated in their description "are 100% Toshiba OR Samsung guaranteed!" so worth a try. I've ordered 5 so will give feedback once received if deal still running.

Always a bit slow as comes from Guernsey but normally no more than 4-5 days but prices are great for certain items if you aren't in a rush.

Just what I needed, thanks.
#13
Ordered one for my Navigo Sat Nav (another HUKD bargain :)).

Thanks, missed that bit of useful info!

Do they actually come printed with Toshiba or Samsung on them, or like on the pic?

SDHC cards may not work in some older equipment that take SD

Don't know - will give feedback on listing (if still running) once received but all other items I've had seemed genuine.

Totally misinformed info there you are giving!

There is more to SDHC than a bigger capacity card, you can actually buy a standard 4GB SD or a 4GB SDHC cards and there is a difference, a 4 GB SD card is utilising the older 1,1 SD card standard and is a slower class speed than the newer SDHC cards which are utilising 2.0 card standard and come in a variety of class speeds with a minimum sustained write speed.

The limits of a 4GB standard SD card does show though, and there are not higher capacity cards of the older 1.1 standard, hence anything above 4GB then only comes as a 2.0 standard SDHC card.

Whilst backwards compatible with standard SD, you can only use SDHC cards within any card reader that is 2.0 compliant.

This is a good article to read on the subject :)

Worth it firstly if your flashcard supports them, and secondly if you want a larger capacity, the price difference between a standard 4GB SD and a 4GB SDHC card is negligable and yet speed difference is really apparant, especially on class 4 or class 6 cards. Also anything above 4GB and you have to go with SDHC anyway.

If you have an original R4 a SDHC card will not work in it as its not 2.0 compliant. However the dodgy R4 clones/fakes that have unreliable voltage issues are SDHC 2.0 compliant.

If you see what I was quoting, you will see what I meant, and hopefully, so will they.

With your information they have the full picture, if they can be bothered to read it.

Wow, your attitude with your lack of info provided and incorrectness certainly sucks considering I wasn't even being remotely being rude hence the smiley emoticon as phonetics cant be perceived in text. They have the FULL correct picture rather than what you quoted being incorrect that SDHC means a bigger capacity than 2GB, as thats not true as 4GB can be bought as SD not SDHC to support,

This information is EXTREMELY important for anyone that owns an ORIGINAL R4 that wants greater than 2GB capacity as they do not support the SDHC standard, and thus anyone wanting a larger capacity card than 2GB the 4GB SD rather than SDHC is the only choice and the maximum in storage that the R4 can take.

However the dodgy voltaged clone/fake R4 does support SDHC.

Yeah but its trusted seller by amazon. I had no issues, so why is this a problem??

yes - the adapter allows you to plug the microSD card into a standard SD slot.
